Trevornick Holiday Park: Outdoor heated swimming pool

General

  • Family-friendly site by the sandy beach at Holywell Bay
  • A 10-minute drive from the beaches at Perranporth and Fistral
  • Spa, fishing lakes, heated pool and a range of bars and restaurants

Book a coastal Cornish stay at Trevornick Holiday Park, set up to cater for the whole family: this well-equipped site will accommodate you doing as much (or as little) as you please on holiday.

Alongside luxury necessities including toilet/shower blocks, family bathrooms, a launderette and a grocery shop, Trevornick has a wide range of extras for all ages such as an outdoor heated pool, a Jacuzzi, a toddlers' pool and a tranquillity spa.

Tee off on the 18-hole pitch and putt and par-three golf courses, soak up views of the beach made famous by BBC’s Poldark, and try your hand at the miniature golf course… or sit back at one of Trevornick’s fishing ponds: there are two to try your luck at.

Dogs are catered for at Trevornick too: all accommodation types have dog-friendly options, and dedicated on-site facilities include a dog-walking field and a dog wash shower station.

It's always worth taking note of what facilities are open during the different seasons here, as things vary according to the time of year. If you go during peak time, book yourself into the Tranquility Spa for a treatment (or two)… the kids won’t even notice you’re gone while they're at the forest trail with its underground tunnel and zipwire.

We usually stay in more back to nature type campsites such as eco sites or farmers fields with basic facilities, but thought we'd give this a go now we've got two very young children (2yo and 5mo). Although it wasn't for us, it was quite good for that type of site and as such I'd recommend it if you want somewhere with loads of facilities on site and things to do with kids (although the sweet spot is probably around 5yo+, the only real thing for toddlers in the small soft play and toddler pool). We went straight after the school holidays were finished and it was quite quiet. The soft play was small but our toddler enjoyed it. Didnt manage to go in the pool because the weather wasn't up to scratch. The trail in the woods was nice. Staff were friendly in the shop. The pop us takeaway food was a nice touch, just a shame there wasn't something every night. The cleaning staff kept the toilets clean, thankfully since the flushes didn't work well.

    Disliked:

Was mildly irritated before we even arrived by the message we got from them that pitch allocation was random and we'd have to pay £10 to pick our pitch. This is after I'd added a note to the booking saying we had two infants and wanted somewhere quiet at night. Having never been before I had no idea which area to choose so didn't pay to pick one and sure enough we were put right next to a young couple with no children. Fine for us but I felt sorry for them having to put up with the noise from our tent. It just felt like a money-grabbing maneouve to me, and exactly the type of thing that makes us prefer smaller campsites where the owners will go out of their way to help you at no extra cost.
Our pitch was OK, but by the time we'd pitched our very big tent and parked a car and trailer there wasn't much room left to sit outside. Nearly all the pitches were sloping to some degree and OMG do they know how to pack them in, I can't imagine what it would be like in summer when the campsite's full.
Woody's bar was small and the one evening we went it was full of dogs. I'm a dog-lover, but it was too with owners letting their dogs bark and sit on the seats when they soaking wet. The staff were a bit too young and green to do anything about it.
In all our stay was ok because it was out of season, but it wasn't for us and I wouldn't visit again since there are so many other campsites to choose from in the area.

Thank you, for taking the time to leave us a review, we are sorry to hear that Trevornick was not the site for you.
We offer the pick a pitch for families that want to pitch together, or for families who request to be near toilet blocks or to in a quieter area.
We are glad to hear that your children enjoyed the soft play area. And happy you guys got to take advantage of the pop up food trucks. Sadly during the quieter periods we did not have them every evening.
We are sad to see you would not return to Trevornick, we wish you the best of luck finding a campsite that fits all your needs.

Very nice welcome from the men at the gate. Nice young lad showed us to the holding field and check in. Then escorted by a lad on a quad to our pitch. Nice view overlooking the fishing lake and golf course. Grass cutting everyday. Very well Kent site.

    Disliked:

We were a long walk from our pitch to the courtyard where the shop was. Being in a motor home couldn't just pop to the shop. Didn't help that it rained everyday. But you can't book the weather.

From the manager...

Thank you, for taking the time leave a nice review, we are happy to hear you received a warm welcome when arriving, Happy to hear that you enjoyed your views of the fishing lakes and golf course.
We do offer a pick a pitch facility which allows you to pick a pitch closer or further away from the facilities if you wish, this is done at the time of booking or you will just receive a random pitch allocation.

Local attractions

Backdrops don’t come much better than Trevornick… overlooking Gull Rocks and with National Trust-protected Holywell Bay beach steps away making up a mile-long stretch of sand, dunes, rockpools and waves. A surf school is a couple of minutes' drive from the park (or about 20 minutes' hike via the South West Coast Path).

And then… onto Fistral beach (10 minutes), the famed setting of the Boardmasters festival and a fine spot to stop off at even if you're not into the surf. Close to Fistral and about a 15-minute drive from Trevornick await Newquay Aquarium and Newquay Zoo, as well as the town's restaurants and shops… plus surf shops if you seek to buy or hire more kit.

The Eden Project is about a 40-minute drive from Trevornick, just on the opposite side of the peninsula via the A30; make a day of it and drive an extra 15 minutes down the road to Carlyon Bay while you’re there so you can say you’ve seen the ocean from both sides. Head south from Trevornick for an hour or so to arrive at Land’s End for photos, or drive half an hour for photoshoots at Carnewas and Bedruthan Steps.

Also make some time for Falmouth’s excellent maritime museum (45 minutes) and the National Trust Elizabethan house Trerice (15 minutes) for further peaceful times indoors.
