  • Peaceful off-grid campsite at a permaculture farm near Camborne
  • A 10-minute drive to Gwithian beach; 20 minutes to St Ives
  • Ethical site with wellbeing activities, open mic nights and firepit
Ro Dama Farm is an off-grid site at a permaculture farm in the west Cornwall countryside, about 10 minutes’ drive from Camborne and two miles from the coast at Godrevy. Everything has been set up here to maximise the connection with nature – you’ll be able to have a real ‘digital detox’ here among the brambles and bird song. Compost toilets and a shower are provided for guests, and the whole site aims to be carbon neutral. In keeping with that ethos, locally sourced materials are upcycled to create infrastructure and profits will be fed back into the organic vegetable garden, which produces supplies given away locally. And while the ethical credentials may be top-notch, so too is the location: it’s only a short journey to the coast path or Gwithian beach, and there are train and bus services running from Camborne. The speedy A30 runs close by too for outings to more distant parts of Cornwall. When you’re not out exploring, time on site can be spent joining in with gardening activities or heading down to the amphitheatre area, which hosts performances and open mic nights as well as housing the communal cooking space and firepit. The farm also offers bookable health and wellbeing services to further than connection with nature.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Peaceful location with roomy pitch and beautiful views over the valley. Enjoyed waking up to the sound of birds each day.

Disliked We were disappointed to find there was no access to the beach as was described in the advert for the site. Facilities were very run down with intermittent water to the showers.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked A quirky little, quiet, basic, secluded, off the beaten track campsite. Very friendly, very charming and so, so peaceful. The staff could not have been more helpful.

Disliked Nothing.

Terrace non-electric grass tent pitch (large)

Liked If you're a fan of camping, but find square fields boring, this is the place for you. There's a lovely selection of private camping spaces and not a square field in sight. Lots of wildlife and beautiful woody hills surround you. We met a couple of the guys living here and they were really friendly.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Good tent pitches to choose from spaced out from one another, peaceful environment, night sky full of stars on clear night, basic but clean facilities, friendly owner/workers, good views and can walk to beach about 2 miles away

Disliked Can hear traffic noise from road if not windy which somewhat spoils the wild peacefulness and not loads of space fro car parking but these are minor things and overall very good
