What customers say

Lovely spot for walks to Devil's Dyke & pubs. Clean, cosy accommodation with comfy beds and well-equipped pods. Wheelbarrows, firepit with BBQ, and welcome goodies are thoughtful touches. Dark Sky area, but WiFi signal is weak.

Camping pod

Liked Absolutely beautiful location! It’s about a 45 minute walk up to devils dyke (depending on which route you take) or you can even just sit at the camping pod and watch all of the paragliders flying in the sky. There’s loads of others walks around as well, you’ve got a few local pubs to choose from (within walking distance) and also shops a short drive away. Also love the wheelbarrows to take all of your belongings to the site, makes like so much easier! The accommodation itself was beautifully clean and lovely and cosy! Would definitely go back!

Camping pod

Liked Really nice place! Great location with nice open views. Clever idea to use wheelbarrows to get your stuff from the car to the accomodation! We ordered the BBQ pack, nice variety of meat + buns and sauces. The camping pod looks great and is well equipped. Really comfortable bed. We had a bit of rain, but that didn't stop us from doing the nearby Devil's Dyke hike and a lunch at the restaurant at the start/end of the walk. Great walk with nice views. Goes up and down quite a bit, so put good walking shoes on. We only stayed two nights which was a shame because there is an abundance of other nice walks in the area. We would love to come back and explore the area some more!

Disliked Due to the weather we couldn't marvel at the stars (the place lies in a Dark Skies reserve), I guess we have to come back for that! ;)

Camping pod

Liked A perfect place to enjoy peaceful and quiet time. The pod was super clean and tidy and everything you need is there, just take your clothes. Welcoming basket with some flavour tea, roasted coffee and cookies was 😍. Best firepit with bbq rack, wood all utensils included so evening 🔥 and stargazing was a must.
The area is stunning and amazing for hikes and walks. We had an amazing time and already planning when to come back. Thank you for having us ❤️

Local attractions

Wet your palate a little… with Albourne Estate (10 minutes’ drive) so close by, you’ll be well-set to get wrapped up in a wine tasting tour around the vineyard. Fish and chips are more the kind of thing you’ll get your hands on in Brighton (25 minutes), good fuel for the beach, Lanes shopping area, pier and Sea Life Centre, depending on what kind of day out you’re aiming for. Shoreham-by-Sea beach (15 minutes) is another of those seaside destinations – perhaps dabble in some windsurfing or kitesurfing while you’re here – but if you’re after somewhere handsome inland, there’s the Sussex Prairie Garden (15 minutes). Of course, one of the closest spots to the site is the National Trust’s Devil’s Dyke (half an hour’s walk) and for those of who you who are wondering exactly what that is, it’s a prime beauty spot for walking in the South Downs. Handily, historic sites are not at all hard to find either. There’s the Norman remains of the Bramber Castle (10 minutes’ drive) or you could go for a picnic by the Jack and Jill Windmills (15 minutes).
