What customers say
Sunnyside Pop-Up Camping is lauded for its secluded woodland setting & spacious fields. Hosts Heath & Katja are praised for their warmth. Basic but clean facilities include a great shower & wood-fired sauna. While mostly peaceful, one guest noted late-night noise. Highly recommended for repeat visits.

Very special place!
Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked All of it was really well put together, and I think there's something here for all types of campers. There's four fields, so if you want remote 'wild' feel camping, you can get that there. Then the community feel of the first field is unlike any sites I've been to; Heath an Kat were so welcoming, friendly and down to earth, and we're involved in everything going on around the central camp where they themselves pitch up in their campervan. Lovely woods and trails for walking surrounding the area. Facilities are pretty great too, had a lovely sauna with my 7 year old who has never previously been allowed in any, there's bits for the kids to do with a little wooded area round the central camp and rope ladders, hammock swing etc. It's my little boys new favourite camp site!
Disliked Composting toilets are a thing I am yet to get used to, but goes with the raw, back to nature feel of it all. Slightly bumpy and uneven pitches, but you can find flat spots.

From the manager: Hi Freddie,
Thanks for your review, we are so glad you enjoyed the the Sauna, I agree composting loos aren't for everyone, but they are so much better for the environment and water courses.
We do keep them clean.

Excellent site
Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Love this place. A very warm welcome from Heath and Katya. Plenty of space to pitch and spread out. A sauna and friendly campfire to gather around in the evenings.
Love how wild and nature friendly it is. Ladybirds galore and Gary the giant grasshopper on my tent in the morning.
Disliked Tricky to find. Will use What 3 words next time.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked We had such a lovely stay here - the campsite was easily accessible by car, had plenty of space and a view across the fields, the couple running it were so friendly and you can buy wood and rent a campfire. We didn't use the sauna in the end because the weather was so warm but it looked great. Excited to come and stay again!
Disliked Nothing

From the manager: Thanks so much for your lovely review, Perhaps next time you will get a chance to use the sauna.
Super space. Special experience. Just as it should be. Enjoy!
Non-electric grass campervan pitch
Liked The warm welcome from Heath and Kat. The laid back vibe. The friendly connection between families. The sauna. A shower that’s on until you switch it off (not an annoying push button thing). A well maintained toilet, and the dough twist bread making on Saturday night for all the kids. Simple, beautiful, done well by a couple determined to provide an experience you’ll remember.
Disliked Nothing.

Beautiful campsite with excellent facilities. Bit noisy for families.
Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Hosts were super friendly and helpful, great rope and nest swings, lovely site with loads of space. Beautiful shower. Clean and excellent composting loos. Very handy washing up zone. All in all a well made campsite. There are several fields - don’t stop at the top, if you want remote there is loads of space down the hill (wish we had anticipated the music and gone there!).
Disliked For a family site it was very noisy both evenings with pumping music from some of the guests very late into the night, which didn’t help little ones trying to sleep. I was surprised that the owners didn’t call time for everyone else on the campsite.

From the manager: Thanks very much for taking the time to write this for us, and we are so glad you like what we are doing here. I am very sorry you didn't get a good nights sleep.
I didn't have to look it up to know that you were there for the Midsummer weekend, as we too heard the noise.
You were quite right to feel surprised that we didn't call time on the music. One of the reasons we camp onsite with our customers is to be there at hand to manage these kind of situations.
As it happens, we did go for a walk around the site that weekend, steeling ourselves to tell someone to leave there and then, only to discover that the music was not coming from our site. In fact on Sunday we discovered from our neighbours that it was the talk of East Grinstead, as the music was coming from some rave party from the reservoir: Miles away from us!
We do love having music on site, there are not many sites that do, and we want to be one of them. But we have a well observed 11pm curfew, which we do help manage the best we can.
We do only allow music or groups that want to chat around the fire late in top field which is only one of our 4 fields. So you are quite right in that if you want more solitude and quiet you can normally find it on the other three fields. Unfortunate that weekend it would not have helped as the music carried across our whole site and in fact the whole of the neighbourhood!
We do hope this unfortunate event did not put you off visiting us again and we hope to welcome you to Sunnyside again in the future.
