General

  • Peaceful five-acre rural site 10 minutes' walk from local pub
  • Around 10 minutes' drive from beaches at Pagham and Bognor Regis
  • Firepit area on site and five minutes' drive from a farm shop

Coast or country? Dither ye not, fair reader, for a stay at Lagnersh Shepherds Huts and Camping is one that has you handily placed for both.

This peaceful site has five acres of gorgeous West Sussex countryside to its name, giving guests plenty of space from which to watch buzzards flying overhead or look out for the deer that sometimes drop in to graze. Fancy seeing a bit more? Clamber over the stile to stride forth on local footpaths, or drive for 15 minutes up to the South Downs National Park.

‘Like living in the middle of nowhere but only 10 minutes from civilisation’ is how the folks here describe their place. Canny guests may have already guessed that refers to the presence of a pub a short stroll away for homemade food and local ales. A little further along (five minutes’ drive) is a well-stocked farm shop for all the bits you need for a barbecue or a top-notch night at the site’s firepit area.

Time to swap the rural views for some sea air? It’ll take you about 10 minutes to drive to Pagham or Bognor Regis, or around 20 for Climping and the Witterings.

Please note

No bachelor/bachelorette parties permitted via Pitchup.com.

Continental touring caravans (caravans built with the door on the right-hand side) are not permitted.

Dogs are not allowed in the on-site accommodations.

Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Dogs are not permitted in the hut, but a pen and kennel is provided so they can stay next to the hut.

Very nice and spacious site, was very quiet and the fire pit was a nice touch, too. Clean bathrooms, and many a nice dog to meet as well.

No hot water in shower, would not have come if known this. Site should state cold shower only. Confirmed with others. Didn't want to fuss over this. Kids refused a cold shower. Ladies glad of avoiding this trip.

No hot water to wash dishes, would not have come if known this. Site should state cold water washing only. Confirmed with others on site.

Pitchup should check facilities. You shouldn't have to ask the owners about each comment to understand each flaw.

From the manager...

Which I had been told that the men’s shower was cold as when it was brought to my attention I had a new electric shower installed straight away
