- Dog-friendly pop-up site on a working farm in cracking countryside
- A 20-minute drive from the South Downs National Park and Bognor Regis
- Close to flat, circular hiking paths and National Cycle Route 88
If wandering around West Sussex is the plan for your next week away, have a gander at Glebe Camping. This pop-up park is on a farm in a quiet part of the countryside, set next to a handful of flat, well-signposted circular hiking routes and 200 metres from National Cycle Route 88.
Dogs are allowed to pitch up here as well, so your four-legged mate can come on walks through the surrounding fields and along country lanes. The park is in Sidlesham, between the South Downs National Park (20 minutes’ drive) and England’s southern coast, so there are ample areas for ambling a touch further away too.
With local sights ranging from cute thatched cottages in lush green hills to wildlife in the RSPB Pagham Harbour nature reserve, the scenery is varied around yonder. Not up for putting that much pressure on the legs? Stroll to a pub instead – there’s one under 10 minutes’ walk from the park.
For a larger choice of drinking holes, check out Chichester (15 minutes). This Roman-era town is also reachable on a cycle route or by taking the bus, a most excellent transport option if you’re planning to have a couple of pints.

The park is within walking distance of Pagham Harbour Nature Reserve (half an hour), so wander to this birdwatchers’ paradise for stunning views out over salt flats and towards the open sea. You might see black-tailed godwits and little egrets from the sheltered inlet as you roam.
The site is also a short hop from National Cycle Route 88 leading to Chichester, meaning a bike ride could very well be on the cards too.
Or how about days out on beaches? Saunter along the shingle stretches of coast around Selsey Bill (10 minutes), heading across the headland for a hike before sampling some first-rate seafood in the old fishing village. And if you’re seeking sessions on sand, wend your way to West Wittering beach (15 minutes) instead.
After a busier spot? Bognor Regis is where to head – this famed seaside resort is 20 minutes’ east of the park and is hailed as the sunniest town in Britain, so fingers crossed the rays are out. Whether it’s warm or not, pootle along the promenade for 2.7 miles from Felpham to Aldwick or take the train that skirts the coast for the same views without needing to walk.
