Warren Barn Farm: Spacious pitches where fire pits and chimeneas are permitted.

General

  • Dog-friendly farm site in the North Downs with countryside views
  • Peaceful 30 acre field with SSSI status area within 15 miles of London
  • Firewood and Longhorn beef available to buy; pre-order food

Sign in for a peaceful stay in the North Downs at Warren Barn Farm, where deep valleys and chalk downlands make for pretty pleasant surroundings. Sat on the edge of the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, sublime countryside views and hiking, cycling or horse riding are on the cards from this Woldingham wild camping site. And in case you have a sudden craving for the city or the pleasures of the salt and sand, it's an hour’s drive from central London or the coast.

Plant down in a plot on this 30-acre field, tucked away in a protected area of the countryside, and book yourself onto a farm safari, as this is a working farm site. The farm produces pasture-fed Longhorn beef that you can pre-order for a tasty night by the barbecue. Conveniently, you can also pre-order home-cooked food to fuel the day’s adventures and buy logs for the firepits around the site (no fires anywhere on site other than in the firepits, please – this is grazing land for the rest of the year).

Things are geared towards wild camping here, but you'll have access to showers and there are regularly cleaned toilets dotted around. If snacks are needed, you can build a trusty stash from the supermarket five minutes’ drive away. In Warlingham, there are a few pubs for when the time calls for a chilled beer or nice meal, plus a cosy café and a garden centre for a casual potter around (find a leisure centre with a swimming pool too, 10 minutes’ drive away).

Please note

Group bookings of 10 or more adults are not permitted (couples and immediate family members excepted).

Guests are advised to bring a good quality torch with them as parts of the park are unlit.

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

At least one of the party members must be aged 21 or over.

No bachelor/bachelorette parties permitted via Pitchup.com.

Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.

Swimming in the lake is not allowed.

Single-sex bookings of 3 or more people (excluding couples) are not permitted via Pitchup.com.

Minimum spacing of 20 metres between pitches.

Beautiful scenery, great clean washing up area, showers and toilets well stocked with loo roll and soap. Massive 15 acre field with plenty of space - even better we were the only people there for 2 out of 3 nights! Very private and peaceful with a great view over the valley. Lovely view of both sunset and sunrise. The owners were very friendly and Rebecca's home baked goodies were divine. (Possibly the best brownies we've ever had!) Highly recommend a visit to this lovely site. Thanks for having us, Jodie & Gregg

    Disliked:

Nothing to dislike but just a word of warning there's not much shade bar a couple of trees with long grass/weeds under them so if you happen to go on a rare 30 degree cloudless week that turns your tent into a sauna like we did there's not really anywhere to hide from the sun/heat! Just to bare in mind :)

From the manager...

We are trilled your enjoyed your stay. Thank you for this feedback. We will look into providing some more shaded areas ready those sunny days. 😄

Local attractions

Add binoculars to your packing list, as Norbury Park (a 35-minute drive) is a prime spot for birdwatching. In the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (35 minutes), there are lots of cycling and walking routes or Box Hill (35 minutes) for a hilltop hike with sublime views.

There are flowers aplenty at the National Trust site Emmetts Garden (25 minutes). Chartwell (15 minutes) is another National Trust site, this time a trip into the old stomping grounds of Winston Churchill (now a pleasant garden and house the public can explore).

Daring souls in the squad? The local airsports centre (five minutes) has lessons in hang gliding and paragliding. If that’s a little too daring and you’re looking for a more leisurely pursuit, the Warwick Wold Waters (15 minutes) are a good fishing spot nearby.

Play barns and farm animals are on the itinerary at Godstone Farm (15 minutes), a good stop for children who might enjoy following a farm or dinosaur trail. Small-sized explorers can also go into the ancient woodlands at Lullingstone Country Park (35 minutes), where there’s a picnic area and play area.
