  • Colchester Zoo 25 minutes; Tiptree Jam Museum half an hour
  • Well-equipped kitchen corners, open-plan living space and barbecues
Woodchests Glamping is part of a fifth-generation family farming business that has diversified to provide luxury accommodation at five minutes’ drive from Pebmarsh in rural Essex. The family are looking forward to welcoming you to their countryside haven, where they hope you will unwind in the luxurious safari tents, take scenic country walks, spot abundant wildlife about the place and have a leisurely stroll to the local village pub (25 minutes’ walk). Set next to mature woodland and close to a fishing lake, the spacious tents come with all bed linens (but not towels) supplied, a roomy open-plan living and dining area, and a well-equipped kitchen corner. Each tent has an ensuite with shower and a covered deck at the front for alfresco meals. Thoughtful extras include lots of storage space, a woodburner to take the chill off colder evenings and a pizza oven/barbecue; there’s also lots of room between the tents, so you can all stay nice and private. An initial box of firewood is supplied for your use. Extra wood can be purchased on site, and the owners kindly ask that you only use what’s supplied from their wood store.
