Great riverside spot near Bodiam Castle, with paddleboarding available. The Hub cafe's a winner, and staff are super friendly. Toilets generally clean, but some found them a bit smelly or far from their pitch. Minor noise from other campers reported too.

Liked It is a lovely site with the hub being a lovely touch, the food was amazing, but the service is slow. Epic life water sports were also amazing. The showers by the river were the hot ones!
Disliked The showers by the hub were cold and smelly. The site was quiet so the showers were free but if it was full there is only 2 working showers for the whole campsite.

Liked It’s a beautiful place with plenty to do. It’s also very peaceful even with kids around-easy to avoid. Living in London it was very refreshing to mostly hear sheep from afar at night. Pitch size was great, the Hub is lovely with regional beers and ciders and yummy meals. All the staff were great and helpful. Nice and clean toilets and showers

Shepherd's hut
Liked The setting is beautiful - especially the river and the glimpses of Bodiam Castle. We stayed in a hut and enjoyed cooking over the open fire.
Disliked The toilets are not adequate. They really stink. I understand they are chemical loos but they smelled much worse than other chemical loos I have used. Maybe there was not enough chemical in the tank? They also were not cleaned every day. This lets down an otherwise great site.
Suggestions:
- It would be really appreciated to have a facility to charge mobiles up at the huts, e.g. a car-style phone charger connected to the 12V battery.
- The top hut area would benefit from a communal washing up sink with hot water on the back of the hut with the showers. It's hard to wash up the outdoor cooking kit with only cold water as supplied inside the huts.

Liked The hut was great, brilliant food, well priced drinks and very clean amenities. The location is beautiful. Unfortunately we had bad weather but it was still a great stay!
