2 bedroom shepherd's hut

Liked The cabin is well equipped and to a very high standard, everything we needed for our evenings in after exploring the local area. Everywhere was really clean and looked brand new/never used. The hot tub was brilliant we enjoyed having our own little disco with the lights and music which was great knowing that we weren’t going to disturb anyone. The views are incredible, it is such a peaceful location. We would highly recommend and would hope to come and stay again.

Local attractions

Heading here for the history? Start with a trip to Hexham (half an hour's drive) to visit the abbey and Old Gaol, then head a short way along the road to Corbridge Roman Town (20 minutes). That’s perhaps the closest part of Hadrian’s Wall, but there are plenty of other places to check out along the wall’s length, including Vindolanda and Housesteads Roman Fort (both half an hour). If it’s the fresh air and scenery you’re after, get over to Kielder Water (half an hour) for cycling, fishing and watersports, play a round at Bellingham Golf Club (10 minutes) or make new woolly friends on a walk with Ferny Rigg Alpacas (half an hour). There are lots of great walks around as well, including the Hareshaw Linn Walk and trails from Otterburn (both 10 minutes) as well as hikes in the Northumberland National Park. Northumberland National Park is the largest gold-tier dark sky park in Europe, so the stargazing around here is truly excellent. If you’d like some hints on what you’re looking at, book in for an event at Battlesteads Dark Sky Observatory (20 minutes).
