What customers say
Tranquil, remote spot with stunning country vistas. Campers rave about welcoming owners, good-sized, tidy sites & clean loos. Basic but charming honesty shop. Some want more picnic tables or permanent toilets. Minor gripes (dog barks, mud) can't dampen the good vibes. Most keen to return!

Liked Nice big open space with lots of room, and great views. The owner Harry seems a nice friendly chap as well. Grass is nice and flat, and trimmed so perfect for driving on and pitching a tent.
Disliked Nowhere to wash up, or hot water available.
Portaloo’s were very smelly inside.

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked The quietness of this secluded site, friendly and helpful owner. Well cut grassy area for pitching tents on. We will be back here again I’m sure, thank you for this little gem of a site. It is a simple and basic site with and a tap but that’s all we really needed and a space to lay our heads, hence the tent.

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked This has to be the best wild camping experience and pitch I’ve stayed on in the UK. Wonderful views, peace and quiet and all round relaxing. The owner of the land is such a good bloke. Site offers a nice little shop with fresh eggs on a morning (honesty box)

Amazing campsite, definitely recommended.
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Hosts are great, this was our second time staying here and both times one of the hosts came round and checked we were settling in okay and assured us if we had any problems we could give them a call. Ground is flat and even, grass is very well maintained. Portaloos are clean and well kept, soap dispensers and water are provided for cleanliness. Views are amazing.
Disliked No dislikes however as a recommendation extra picnic tables around more of the pitches would be an additional perk.

Amazing stay!!
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked First time camping and absolutely amazing. We were really nervous because our first time camping somewhere else it was a disaster due to high winds and it was meant to be high winds when we were going here so I emailed Harry about this. He kindly rang and was so friendly on the phone saying that if we felt uncomfortable we could rearrange for another time or go and give it a go and if we weren't comfortable , then we could leave and rearrange.
When we got there he met us and showed us a great spot to camp to help with high winds. Told us about walks around the site and told us about the little honesty shop they had.
Me and my boyfriend had the most amazing time, it was amazing because there was only us and one other couple who were there and they were out pretty much all day!! The views are wonderful, surrounded by trees that are great even for high winds, a few walks to do around the site and it's lovely and quiet.
There are picnic tables around and a portaloo and running water tap.
Harry was so kind and said that because it was quiet, we could leave the next morning as late as we wanted (check out is 11am) so that was amazing!
We are now fully converted to the camping life and it's mainly due to how amazing harry was so thank you so much for all the help and reassurance and guidance!
Disliked Don't know If it was the hand-wash or the water to wash your hands, but It made your hands smell AWFUL!
Check in is until 8pm but we had a family arrive just past 9pm and ruined our view by parking infront of us ( they weren't really close but out of everywhere and all the space available, they had to park there and ruin the view) was not happy because they didn't finish setting up till about 9.30pm and the kids were running around. At this time we just wanted to chill and enjoy the quiet...not have that. This didn't ruin the stay and they were thankfully gone by the time we got up next morning but still wasn't happy.
