General

  • Quiet adults-only site amid stunning scenery in the Yorkshire Dales
  • A five-minute walk to Kettlewell on the Dales Way for hiking
  • Great Whernside fell and Kilnsey Crag within 15 minutes’ drive

As a smaller, adults-only site in the Yorkshire Dales National Park that welcomes couples and solo travellers but not groups, Wharfe Camp encourages a peaceful, quiet atmosphere where you'll be surrounded by the sounds of the countryside.

This park’s also in a serene setting: as well as only accepting a small number of people, it has views of the green north Yorkshire countryside and is a five-minute walk from Kettlewell with its three pubs, bistro, garage, launderette and well-stocked village shop. The rural settlement known for its annual Scarecrow Festival is on the Dales Way, so there are lots of scenic walks in the local area.

The River Wharfe is also metres from the site for kayakers and Kilnsey Crag is less than 10 minutes’ drive away if you’re a climber. Cavers are also sorted as the subterranean systems in Wharfedale are about the same distance from the park.

If you’re sticking to strolls, the circular route around the glacial lake at Malham Tarn starts from 45 minutes away or you can wander up to the waterfalls at Gordale Scar to gaze up at the overhanging limestone cliffs, stopping by Malham Cove to take snaps of the odd rock formations (35 minutes from the park) along the way.

On site, the back of the family barn has been extended to include new toilets, a hot shower in a wetroom and washing-up facilities. Recycling’s also encouraged. Please note this is place that's all about the peace and quiet, so no radios or other musical kit will be allowed, and guests are asked to close car door and boots gently. Group bookings aren't permitted either (this includes groups making individual bookings and meeting up on site).

Please note

Group bookings of 2 or more units (e.g. tent, touring caravan, motorhome or accommodation hire) travelling together are not permitted via Pitchup.com.

A charge of £1,00 (R21,48) applies for the use of the shower.

Guests under the age of 18 are not allowed on site.

Continental touring caravans (caravans built with the door on the right-hand side) are not permitted.

No bachelor/bachelorette parties permitted via Pitchup.com.

Bookings must not be for more than 7 consecutive nights.

The pod was absolutely fantastic! Attention to detail was amazing. Lovely and warm, which was great after being out in cold. Kettle, cooker, fridge, everything you could need. Breakfast included. Beautiful view from bedroom window, quiet site, fantastic hostess. Great base from which to go cycling, running, walking& wild swimming. Kettlewell village only a few hundred meters away for pubs & cafes with great food. Showers was lovely. We have stayed in a lot of camping pods and this was by far the best.

Glad you enjoyed staying at the campsite and we hope you return again.
This season we have decided to change the pitches offered and we will be offering a bigger pitch next season and even less campers making it more exclusive.
The national parks recommended 10 pitches on this size site and we do already offer bigger pitches than other campsites in the area. I'm sorry you believed it bigger in the photographs.
Regards
Wharfe Camp.

An amazing place to stay. Very quiet, we stayed in a pod and it was outstanding. Everything was clean and well looked after and Lucy was a great host. A couple of pubs just a five min walk away and stunning views of the beautiful countryside. I cant recommend this place more. The Pod has everything you could need from hob to cook on, to TV, fridge and small freezer, towels and outside seating.

What a gem of a site. We stayed in one of the two pods, it was the best we have ever stayed in, so comfortable and so very well equipped. Breakfast provided was a lovely unexpected touch. The owners are lovely and obviously care about making sure their guests enjoy their time with them. Toilets spotless and the best we have ever seen on a campsite. The tent pitches looked great with no drainage problems despite very heavy rain over night. The campsite is only 3 min walk to the Blue Bell Inn, a lovely pub serving great food. If you are looking for an adult only site in the Dales then we would highly recommend Wharfe Camp.
