What customers say

This well-kept campsite offers spectacular views and a great riverside spot, perfect for strolls and even a dip. Guests rave about the spotless ablutions and generous pitches. The Knight's Table restaurant gets top marks for superb food and value. Staff are consistently friendly and helpful. While most had no issues, a few noted slightly sloped pitches. Highly recommended!

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Super bathroom facilities, excellent location near to the river for wild swimming and Settle for exploring, and the fantastic playground that kept our daughters occupied for hours.

Disliked Push button showers were a little annoying but did not spoil our trip at all.

Electric grass campervan, trailer tent or tent pitch

Liked Absolutely gorgeous site. Lovely play area for kids and really family friendly atmosphere. My 4 year old daughter gad a great time playing in the grass with all the other children.

Behind the campsite is a river with the opportunity to swim, jump and paddle.

Great and plentiful amenities and pub on site. Husband and Dad played virtual golf which they enjoyed in the games room with pool and darts also.

Local swimming pool was down the lane. We didn't go but worth noting if rainy day.

Would definitely recommend and will definitely be returning.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Really nice site. Good comms and welcome. Beautiful setting and great location. Facilities also really good and some nice touches eg ice block freezing and big pot washing area. Showers clean and nice.

Disliked Nothing- just choose your neighbours carefully and check out the back field as most go for the nearest one and it’s busier there.

We did not do any of the walks from the site but there were 3 to choose from.

Local attractions

Once you've settled a few days strolling, cycling or cantering in the countryside surrounding Knight Knight Stainforth Caravan and Camping Park (the Pennine Way is close by too if you want to walk 267 miles or so), take a few day trips to find out what else is around: caving, waterfalls, the Lake District and market towns are all easily accessible. Prefer something easier? The superb Settle to Carlisle railway can be picked up a couple of miles away. Cavernous caves and climbing are both for the taking in the area to dig into: White Scar Cave, the longest show cave in England, is nearby at Ingleton and Ingleborough Cave is a little to the east. Tours are available at both. From Malhamdale, clamber the three famous landmarks, Malham Cove, Malham Tarn and Gordale Scar, or walk around all three in the eight-mile clockwise walk from Malham. (More climbing? The Yorkshire Three Peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Ingleborough and Whernside await.) Another well-trodden trek in the region is the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, starting and ending at Ingleton on a four-mile rocky road along the River Twiss and past the Pecca, Thornton Force, Beezley Falls, Rival Falls and Snow Falls waterfalls. Or take things a bit easier and wander around the local market towns of Settle, Skipton and Hawes to pick up local produce to have back at base.
