  • Well maintained, peaceful site with great views
  • Surrounded by farmland
  • On the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. 1 mile from Leyburn
Cow Close Caravan and Camping is a small, friendly site located just one mile from the market town of Leyburn "The Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales"; offering hardstanding and grass pitches for caravans, motorhomes, campervans and tents on a gently sloping site. Situated on a country lane, Cow Close offers fantastic all round views of beautiful farmland in which pheasants, hare, deer and a variety of birds can be seen. We have a modern, clean amenity block with warm showers, handbasins and toilets. Plugs and large mirrors for hairdryers etc. Large sinks for washing up, including a covered area. CDP point for toilets. Freezer for ice packs etc. We offer gas bottle exchange, BBQ to hire and sell charcoal and toilet fluids. Cow Close is within easy walking distance of the thriving market town of Leyburn which has a great range of independent shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs. The thriving community promotes local activities and events, which alongside the many tourist attractions offer something for everyone to enjoy. Walks of varying lengths and terrain range from a stroll along Leyburn Shawl to Castle Bolton, or a moorland walk up or around Penhill to take in amazing views. There are plenty of cycle routes from easy to "Tour de France" standard taking in Buttertubs pass into neighbouring Swaledale. The Dales Bike Centre is a popular stop for refreshments for walkers and cyclists. Visitor attractions are a plenty in nearby towns and villages. Markets, Castles, Museums, Art galleries and Waterfalls. Brymor Ice Cream and Wensleydale Ice cream parlours are popular stops and The Forbidden Corner is a must for young and old alike. A trip to Wensleydale wont be complete if you don't expereince Wensleydale Creamery in Hawes for the infamous "Wallace and Gromit" Wensleydale Cheese. We are proud of the warm and friendly welcome we extend to all our visitors. We respect your privacy and personal space, but there is always someone on hand to answer your questions and offer help and advise on what to do and where to go. We look forward to seeing you soon.
