General

  • Family-friendly site next door to a well-established Suffolk farm park
  • A 15-minute drive from Woodbridge; half an hour from the Suffolk coast
  • Family-friendly country pub a 10-minute stroll away

Pony rides, friendly animals to ruffle, eggs to collect… it’s no wonder that numerous nippers (and a good handful of grownups, to be fair) have expressed a desire to take up residence when visiting a farm park.

And here at Suffolk’s Easton Farm Park they can do (almost) exactly that. While the animals take a bit of an overnight rest from the constant adoration, guests can pitch up in the fields right next door, ready to get back in for more farmyard action the following day. (And as a special treat, those staying here can sashay in and out of the park as much as they like once they’ve paid a single entry fee…)

The folk here have been welcoming guests to their gorgeous little rural spot for 40 years or so, learning a thing or two about what makes a good stay along the way – as a result, the bathroom facilities here are particularly fine, with bonus points for such things as underfloor heating and plenty of mirrors in the ladies’ section.

Finishing up a farm day with a barbecue or campfire is a fine idea, if that’s what you fancy (both are allowed on site); there’s also a family-friendly country pub a 10-minute stroll away in the village of Easton, for evenings when you’d rather have someone else sort the eats for you while you partake of a local ale or few.

Please note

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, customers can amend their dates with the campsite/holiday park free of charge for all stays up to, and including, July 19, 2020.

Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.

If making a fire, the fuel, logs and coal have to be purchased on site.

Guests are advised to bring a good quality torch with them as parts of the site are unlit.

A cable measuring at least 10 metres is needed for the electric hook-ups.

Minimum spacing of 2 metres between pitches.

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

The site caters for families (immediate members) and couples only - bookings from all other forms of groups are not accepted.

At least one of the party members must be aged 18 or over.

There is a one-off admission cost (valid for the entire stay) of £9 for anyone aged 2 for the farm park. This includes daily rides and activities, such as: hug-a-bunny, meet the animals, barrel bug rides, pond dipping and family train. Within the farm park there is an outdoor adventure play and bouncy pillow which visitors can use whilst in the farm park.

Pitch size 10m X 10m. Toilets and showers superb. Fire pits and wood available at a modest charge and delivered to pitch including marshmallows and sticks. Liked the minimal field lighting, great to sky watch after dark. The customer service was brilliant. Staff available every day in the site office.

    Disliked:

Water taps located in the middle of the field but are hard to locate, could be more identifiable. Path to toilet block from the field looks like a pile of larger stones have been dropped and spread out. It would be better if the path had borders and dressed with smaller stone such as pea shingle as a better walking surface. These are minor critiques to what is overall a superb site.

Friendly welcome. Nice spacious grass pitches with electricity in a big field. Excellent facilities with clean (and safe) toilets, wash area and showers. With marginal mobile coverage (at least from Vodafone), WiFi was a welcome addition (so long as you are close to the shower block. Handy for the coast.

    Disliked:

You need levelling wedges in parts of the field, but that's normal.s

Beautiful horses and donkeys right by our electric pitch on the furthest away corner of the field; a quiet, peaceful, well-distanced site with immaculate toilet/washing up/shower block, fire pits to hire and bbq food to buy, a great fun farm park with superb, friendly staff and gorgeous huggable bunnies and chicks.

Zip wire, diggers, sand pits, climbing frames, swings, bouncy pillow and tractor train rides to try. A lovely forest trail with rustic games and a scavenger hunt (normally there’s pony rides and indoor soft play but not during covid).

An absolutely brilliant place for kids under 10 to spend a few days camping, playing and meeting all the animals (goats, sheep, horses, ponies, donkeys, chickens, bunnies, guinea pigs, lambs, pigs, cows, alpaca)

Will be even better once trees on the field mature as it’s quite exposed with no tall planting.

    Disliked:

Nothing for kids to do on the actual camping field itself, really needs a small play area on the field or den building like they have in the forest, or maybe a camper-only animal experience once a day on the field.

A couple of simple loos in the centre of the field for night visits would be great.

The actual park isn’t really geared towards older kids of 10+.

Non-existent WiFi on the actual field but we liked that!

Great campsite, clean and modern facilities. Really liked the ability to rent a fire pit and fire supplies, delivered straight to our pitch for a great campfire evening.

    Disliked:

Location was beautiful and peaceful, but very limited with things to do in the local area. Depending on what kind of trip you are after, this could become an issue for a longer stay.

Contact free booking in was very quick and easy. Toilet block was very clean. The farm and play area is great for young children. Just sorry we didn't have enough time to stay and look around.

    Disliked:

Not disliked but opportunities for improvement. Our pitch stake was knocked over so it took us a bit of driving around as was very clear as we arrived at dusk. The chemical toilet point isn't that clearly marked should add to the map.

Local attractions

Attractions don’t really come much closer than having a farm park right next door… and Easton Farm Park’s a well-established one with a café, a giant jumping pillow, an indoor soft play area and a green trail that’s great for spotting some of the nature around the 30-acre site. Plus, of course, there’s a friendly bunch of horses, sheep, pigs, cows, goats and chickens to make pals with.

If there’s one thing that might tempt the tiddlers away from the farm’s charms, it’s surely a trip to the beach – it’ll take about half an hour to drive over to the Suffolk coast for fish and chips on the beach in Aldeburgh, or to paddle boats on the lake at Thorpeness Meare.

Suffolk’s so heavily tied up with farming history that it’s even got its own breed of horse, which you can admire over at the Suffolk Punch Trust in Woodbridge (15 minutes’ drive). While you’re over there, have a stroll around the smart pile at Sutton Hoo and play with the interactive exhibits at the Tide Mill museum.
