Nice river walks and bring lots of water!
1 bedroom shepherd's hut
Liked Lovely country style horsebox in a shaded area of the garden, which was lovely in the extremely hot weather we experienced. Beautiful animals, nice touches with country theme bunting and lights, amazing river location; nice walks.
Suited to wild camping couples but not families with young children, which was a shame as came here for my son's birthday surprise.
Disliked Unfortunately, not suitable for young children; nowhere to play and the small area allocated is covered in stinging nettles. Wasn't allowed to touch animals and lots of signs stating to keep off certain places, so was nervous letting my children run freely as didnt want to upset the owners. We were respectful.
Wasn't the cleanest of accommodation, but we were camping so didnt mind so much, but the water in horsebox was green and smelt horrendous so could not wash up cutlery, bowls or brush teeth in it. Was kindly provided with 2 bottles of drinking water, so used this instead. Bring lots and lots of water!
There was no plug for the sink so all 4 of us had to use the drinking water to wash out of a cereal bowl placed in sink, which was challenging with small kids and inconvenient. Weather was so hot, which was lovely, but no water left in the shower bag either, so just felt dirty and sticky.
The top bed linen was nice and clean. Unfortunately, my kids couldn't sleep on the bed underneath which they were very disappointed about, as it was covered in dog hair and smelt just awful. It was gross under there. We could not pitch up our pup tent in the allocated space provided either, due to the ground sheet being covered with logs, twigs and puddles of water. We were informed we could sweep it, but we wasn't provided with anything to sweep it with. The space was also under a very low hanging bush/tree and our small 2 man tent did not fit anyway. The toilet facility was fine for men standing, but not for ladies sitting (splinters in all the wrong places :)
We had to find a hotel and pay extra money we didn't really have for the second night.

From the manager: Apologises that you felt the need to raise your problems publicly but if you recall Carly, I advised the area unde the cabin bed isn't suitable for 2 children of the ages of yours and to bring a pup tent .
I met your husband with the printed email and explained as a working licienced yard you donot have free access to the animals.I showed him the accommodation and he said it was lovely and that you'd bought a tent .
It's not a commercial campsite with facilities for children but gave you full details of amenities in the vicinity, left a hammock, balls and a scooter for the children to play with, which were left strewn everywhere, along with broken tree branches .
The water you're referring to is the waste washing up water ,the feed cannister was scrubbed and refilled but even so the water from a caravan foot pump tap is not suitable for drinking hence the drinking water, Pimms and marshmallows left .
No contact was made during the stay to complain or raise concerns .
We do however offer paid pony parties etc which were declined .
I'm sorry it wasn't to your liking but it's basically glorified camping.
The camping loo is no different from any other so apologises if you found it uncomfortable, it does however slot out for larger bottoms, if you'd of called I could of given you a heads up .
