  • Well-maintained site between Oswestry and Shrewsbury, off the A5
  • Within 20 minutes' drive of Oswestry, Shrewsbury and Wroxeter
  • Pool table, dog walk, showers, toilets and launderette
You’ll be tickled pink with a stay at Cranberry Moss Caravan Park, a sweet site in rural Shropshire. First up, it's surrounded by the peaceful county betwixt England and Wales that’s long been a bolthole for those seeking quiet rural times: even the invading Romans escaped here in between all that empire building… Next up, this is a well placed site for getting out and about among Shropshire’s activities and attractions – of which there are many, for the county’s gentle pace doesn’t mean a lack of stuff to do. Far from it: from Cranberry Moss you can roll along to world-famed attractions like Ironbridge Gorge, the Saxon – and Tudor – country town of Shrewsbury, and hikes or gentle strolls aplenty among the Long Mynd, Stretton Hills and the Wrekin, all part of the Shropshire Hills of Outstanding Natural Beauty. All this is most easily accessed, as the site is just off the A5 in a handy spot between Oswestry (15 minutes’ drive) and Shrewsbury (20 minutes). For times when you’re not out roaming, there’s a pool table and a dog walk area where canines can stretch their paws. Everyday needs are easily sorted here too, as the amenities include showers, toilets, a washing-up area and a launderette – these last two with spectacular Shropshire views to make your tasks less tiresome.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Convenient location, flat pitch(es) and wildlife. Squirrels, spotted woodpecker etc. Showers despite being press button timed not short duration.

Disliked Not much really. The gates were being sorted and moved further in as we left (not enough room to get your caravan clear of the road).

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Cranberry Moss Caravan Park is an exceptionally clean and well-maintained site, ideally located for anyone visiting the British Ironwork Centre. The facilities are a standout, featuring modern, spotless toilets and convenient washing-up areas that are easily accessible from the main road.

The site's locked gate policy is a great touch, providing a real sense of security that made us feel much safer during our stay.

Overall, the check-in process was straightforward and the professionalism of the team is clear. It is a secure, high-quality base for exploring Shropshire, provided you can make it there before the evening cutoff.

Disliked While the 5pm check-in deadline felt a bit rushed for us - and we initially thought a simple gate code might be more flexible -the staff were very helpful in explaining their reasoning once we arrived.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Loved the peace and quite away from normal day life, Although the campsite is away from the towns this gave us a good central point for the places that I wanted to visit, got a onsite bar. Ashley and partner where great told us everything we needed to know. Great campsite highly recommended and will book again in the future.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Big pitches, we stayed on an electric grass pitch which was very good under foot.

Lovely clean shower/toilet block with piped music. Hot showers.

Good security cameras and gated enterance for more security.

Small gated and fenced dog walk with adequate amount of dog bins.

Good tv signal, WiFi free for 24hrs only, then £4 a day - this was due to the area being so remote.

Small 'pub' on site looked nice.

Due to the remote surrounding, star gazing at night was magical!

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Greeted by the most warm people who run the site. Nothing seemed to much however busy they were.
Great size, flat hard standing pitch.
Super clean toilets and showers that were clean whenever we went in.
Great washing up facilities 4 sinks with drainers.
Beautiful club room, super deceiving from outside. Really warm and welcoming when you go in with a pool table .
Buses to Oswestry and Shrewsbury with bus stops a five minute walk away .
HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Disliked No dislikes apart from storm Dave.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Lovely pitches and flexible when we needed to swap a spot to be with parents. As our door is on a diffrent side.
Staff are lovely.

Disliked The dog walk is a bit disappointing as it’s just a fenced off curve round the edge of the site. Doesn’t lead to a nice walk.
But they may have been a better place to walk.
And Internet is a bit expensive and only a day at a time.

Local attractions

Shropshire’s absolutely stacked with things to do – outdoorsy activities, museums, castles, arty attractions, theatres, shops… If you’re blinded by choice or need a bit of inspiration, who better to ask than the folk on site, local experts who’ll happily dole out a bit of advice. Among the top picks they might point you towards are the splendid estates of Attingham Park (20 minutes’ drive), a National Trust property where you can paddle canoes or frolic in the Field of Play, and Weston Park (40 minutes), to stroll through gardens designed by the famed Capability Brown. Those Roman visitors left a bit of stuff behind when they moved on, and you can see their style on a trip to Wroxeter Roman City (20 minutes). This area was central to more recent history too – notably at Ironbridge (35 minutes), birthplace of the Industrial Revolution and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site packed with fab museums and family-friendly attractions. If you’re in the company of kids (or indeed grownups) fascinated by all things that move, pack them into the car for the 40-minute drive to see the planes at the Royal Air Force Museum or to take a steam-driven ride on the Severn Valley Railway from Bridgnorth.
