Peaceful woodland site, spacious pitches, friendly owner Dan. Great dog walking. Value and basic approach praised. Some found loos basic, lacking hot water/cleaning. Access road rough with potholes.
Summary AI-generated from Pitchup.com customer reviews

Nice place overall, and at a reasonable price.
Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Nice, flat pitch with good ground for pitching a tent. Owner (Dan) was really friendly and helpful. Great surrounding and a nice walk through the surrounding woodland.
Disliked Toilet and washing facilities could do with a deep clean and a bit of updating. Everything worked OK, and I have seen far worse, but the cobwebs around the windows and shower cubicles could do with sorting out.

Electric grass touring pitch
Liked Nice and quiet, peaceful woodland surrounding the site. Level site but the ground gets very muddy very quickly when wet.
Disliked The lane going up to the site is very uneven for tourers.
Lots of holes where the rabbits have dug.
Extremely basic facilities, and I seriously mean BASIC!!!.
For £25 a night there is much better out there.

From the manager: Thanks for the review we are pleased you enjoyed our peaceful site despite the sandy soil. On the plus side it is very free draining so we have never had waterlogged pitches.
I've got a photo somewhere of a couple of kids playing as if they were on the beach!
Hope we see you again soon.

Liked The welcome from owner was very friendly that I can't fault.
Disliked Ground was terrible, full of dips. I had to walk through what looks like dirty sand to get to toilets and it made my feet filthy. We were told by other campers in field not to pitch up there but to go in other field.People here the most unfriendly. Toilets were just ok as were showers. Wasps were a problem too.

From the manager: It's a shame that our site was not for you. As you see from the reviews many love it. Not sure what happened with your fellow campers, perhaps they didn't want to disturb you and we do have plenty of space so you can spread out.
Take care.

Just to clarify for readers, as you found the shops are just in the village (about 2 miles) along with lots of pubs etc. It is a nice peaceful walk or a very quick car ride.
