Affordable, tranquil campsite with ample, flat pitches and warm hosts. Bell tents offer good value. Basic but clean facilities noted, though some suggest toilet upgrades. Owners and rural setting are highlights; many want to return.

Non-electric grass pitch (pet friendly)

Liked - Very friendly welcome onto site :) Hayley explained the facilities available and advised someone would always be available near the farm shop entrance if we needed anything
- We had the choice of pitching up essentially wherever we wanted on the field!
- Extremely peaceful
- Only 7 minute drive to nearest supermarket so was able to grab whatever bits we needed during our stay away and fuel for the drive home
- Loads of lovely walks and attractions nearby including Twycross Zoo

Disliked - No Negatives :)

Bell tent (six person)

Liked We booked the glamping tent and we had such a wonderful time. Tent was so clean and spacious, we had electricity and was provided with lights, beds, brand new and clean bedding , toaster and kettle . We also had a picnic table outside . The owners were lovely and we was looked after by a lovely lady called Hayley who went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed . We can’t wait to come back!

Non-electric grass pitch (pet friendly)

Liked Basic but priced accordingly. It was near hinkley which is where I needed to be the next day. They do offer a few basics from the small
farm shop such as eggs, bacon, milk and bread. Friendly welcome.

Disliked 2 Portable Toilets where just plonked in the middle of the field. Water point not easily signposted so had to ask other campers where it actually was.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Hello anonymous, there are actually 4 portaloos onsite, two in middle of field for easier access for non electric grass pitches. Water supply is easily seen at entrance. Farm shop supplies lot more than you listed. We do Icecream, chocolate, sweets, bbq items. Bbqs, salad, veg, cold drinks etc and there is also a bell in shop to press for attention. Thanks for review and glad you enjoyed

Bell tent (six person, basic)

Liked Really enjoyed having all the open space, seeing the farm animals and how welcoming the hosts were.

Staying in the bell tents was great as it saved us the hassle of having to set up a tent and we were able to quickly set up and enjoy the surroundings.

It was nice to have the option of having electric too.

We enjoyed the simplicity of this place, nothing commercialised and gave us a chance to strip back and enjoy the simple things. The children aged 2-14 all enjoyed themselves.

The host, Wendy, even bailed us out when we had forgotten the hot chocolate.

There is a small farm shop where the children were able to have an ice cream and other essentials could be purchased too.

Disliked The only thing would be having to take rubbish home but I know this is due to change.

From the manager: Thanks for your lovely comments. We are a new and quickly evolving campsite with more and more ideas going forward. It’s lovely people like you we do it for and look forward to welcoming you back here

Bell tent (six person)

Liked We’ve just returned from a 2 night stay at Bradshaw farm. I booked a furnished bell tent which consisted of a double airbed and two single airbeds (parent and 2 kids) with a kettle and toaster. The field is as flat as can be for a field, toilet facilities are kept as clean as possible (more toilets to be added this week owners said) and shower facility was clean and useable. I paid extra for electric hook up.
The kids were able to pop across to the farm and say hello to the animals, Wendy & Richard were very welcoming and friendly. Kids pools were available to hire for around £12 a day but wasn’t warm enough for us to hire unfortunately. We will return such a lovely place to stay.

Disliked We hired the furnished tent that came with linen. Only thing I would suggest is a slightly thicker duvet as we probably would have been cold if we hadn’t of taken extra blankets.

Bell tent (six person, basic)

Liked The bell tents are lovely and a fantastic price. It was very quiet too. If you enjoy a truly back to basics camping style then this place is for you.

Disliked Obviously, for the price we weren’t expecting five-star facilities, but we did feel a few things were lacking. The main issue was the absence of bins, especially a dog waste bin. Taking normal rubbish home isn’t a big problem, but having to drive back with dog poo in the car was unpleasant.

The portaloos themselves were fine, but there really needed to be more of them, as they filled up and overflowed quite quickly. The shower room was usable, though the solar lights didn’t work and there was no tap at the sink. Finally, there was no dedicated pot washing area, so we ended up rinsing dishes under the drinking water tap.

Most of this is understandable given the price, but if the site is advertised as dog-friendly, a dog waste bin really does feel essential.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Hello anonymous just fyi there is now a dog poo bin and more loos on site and light in shower now fixed - you didn’t need to rush to put a negative review on here just speak to us!!!! Just so you readers know, we do listen, watch and care. Shame you won’t be coming back but that’s your prerogative

Local attractions

When golf is your game, you’ll be pleased to know there are several courses within about 20 minutes’ drive of the site. For watching high-octane pursuits like motor-bike racing, you’ll have to catch the right day at Mallory Park Racing Circuit (10 minutes’ drive). Take a waterside stroll in Market Bosworth Country Park (10 minutes), or learn more about the notorious battle of 1485 on guided walking tours at Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre (also 10 minutes), where the kids can dress up as knights for the day and there are occasional weekend enactments of fiercely fought medieval battles. If you’d like to know more about the infamous King Richard III, whose remains were found in a Leicester car park, visit his royal tomb at the King Richard III Visitor Centre (40 minutes). Still in the city, you can clamber aboard rockets at the National Space Centre, and let off steam in East Street Lanes bowling alley (both make great choices for any rainy days with the offspring).
