    Location and pub food

Facilities, needs TLC like paint outside of pub and make it more welcoming. Clear signage, visable electric hook ups, tidy up hedges. Showers need updating. Wouldn't cost a fortune to put right and could be a little gem then

    Could do better

Toilets look shabby walking past old pallets and washing machine doesn't give a good impression
    Shower wasn't working
Hedges need trimming as its difficult to get to the electric and water
    Only one water tap

It's a shame it's in a nice location and if the took some care and tidied it up a bit I think they owners could make a fortune maybe a little play area for kids

It feels like they have forgotten they are running a whole business not just a indian restaurant

Location is perfect for walking and the owner was very accomodating

    Disliked:

We didnt realise until check in that the 'pitch' wed booked was basically just the back of the carpark next to the open road and bins. With a dog and a 2 yo this was not okay. We called up and they allowed us to move into the main campsite. However the manager clearly couldn't careless about being there and openly admitted she hadnt checkee properly which lead us to setting up our caravan and being asked to move twice. Our final pitch was meant to have electric so we were charged and extra £5 a night. The hook up kept tripping every few minutes and was showing live wires! We ended up having to connect a few cables together to reach a hook up which actually worked. There is no presence of staff onsite so its a complete free for all with people having extra guests show up, fires bbqs etc which is fine but there is no fire safety in place. The toilets had no paper for over a day, the waste disposal is literally the bottom half of a toilet concreted into a lean to. Nothing to wash or sanitise hands after unless you go inside the pub toilets. The shower is full of mould and has rusty screws in the switches which would suggest water is getting around the electrics. The wifi doesnt work.
This place is so dangerous i cant believe the council havent closed it down.

Beautiful small campsite with easy access and privacy. The pitches are spread out which is lovely. 24hr access to toilets and showers. Also a washing up area. This was our second year staying at marlbank and looking forward to booking again next year.

    Disliked:

Toilets quite often ran out of toilet roll which wasn't a problem as such, as we took our own. There was an easy to follow map on the entrance gate for each plot allocation, but no plot numbers on the actual plot which can be confusing in making sure that we were on the correct plot.

Site was quiet, apart from the road noise, which was what we were looking for. Weather was amazing
Food in the pub was delicious, do love Indian food

    Disliked:

Grass overgrown, bushes and trees needed cut back. Pub wasn’t open until Wednesday night and was only open until a Saturday night we arrived on a Sunday! The toilets weren’t cleaned until the Thursday and ran out of toilet paper thank goodness we took our own! Only one shower working.
Quite close to a busy main road
WiFi was patchy l had to keep moving closer to the pub to get a signal

The location was perfect for attending the Welland Steam Fair. The site is a nice size and in good surroundings with plenty of trees. Although we didn't use the restaurant which is adjoining the site we can see this as a real advantage if you don't want to cook or are a late arrival, but I think it would be worth booking a table first.

    Disliked:

All the facilities are below standard. There is only 1 water tap on site which although centrally located does mean you could be waiting a while when busy and if there was an issue with the tap then isn't another as a back up.
There were 2 showers but only one working as the other one had an "out of order" sign on it, throughout or 3 night stay. The lighting was limited as there was only 1 down lighter, there wasn't an extractor fan or window either so it was very steamy. The door lock, the remnants of others visible, was held on by 2 screws out of 4 and these were loose also. The only consolation was that the electric shower worked well for me and the temperature was consistently good, although it did stop working for my wife.
The 2 cubicles in the male toilets either had makeshift locks or handles missing and there was little or no hot water at the basins which made having a wet shave difficult. Sometimes the tap on the left basin didn't work at all.
The washing up facilities in a small lean too were limited but did function and the there was plenty of hot water for washing up. The cold tap when pushed down did stick so you have to pull it up to turn the water off. The lighting to this area outside is limited to one light on a PIR but it did work, but in the dark you would benefit from using a torch.

We have used this site for many years and felt that the only good thing was the grass had been mowed.

On arrival there was no one to site us tried the emergency number no reply.

Eventually found a gentleman working in the kitchen, he couldn't understand that we had been told to camp in the carpark as we didn't want electricity. He told us to go onto the campsite and just park anywhere as site wasn't busy at al. When we booked with Pitch up we where told we would have the last hard standing obviously this was untrue.

Restaurant and bar closed only open Friday and Saturday evenings.

Ladies toilets had a black bin bag on floor partially full but left open on our arrival on Monday and this was still there when we left site on Wednesday. Didn't use toilet area as felt they were unclean.

Showers hadn't been cleaned there was hair etc on the floor and had a strong musty smell so didn't use as felt dirty just opening the door.

The wash up area for campers to wash there dishes was disgusting this didn't affect me as I had a camper but for people with tents this was the worse I have seen in all the sites we stayed on.

As for the toilet waste disposal area that has moss ivy and brambles growing thus didn't use.

Our overall experience was terrible and will definitely NOT be using this site again.
