Liked: Sandy was so friendly as soon as we turned up. Love the peace and tranquility of the site. Easy walk to the pub or slightly longer to Wincanton. Lots of animals to see and a beautiful view from the pitch. We would definitely recommend this place and will visit again

Liked: Sandy was cheerful and welcoming as we arrived after a long rain-splashed journey. We loved the informality and the friendly shower block with its sofa and books. Best of all, it was wonderful to get away from unnatural "wifi-everywhere campsites" as these give me headaches and poor sleep. Thanks Sandy! Sorry we didn't manage to say goodbye while leaving: Ian was concentrating on driving in the rain.

Many half finished projects around ie spa, shepherds hut, yurt and diggers. Some long term Wes. Felt £25 was too much for what it was and definitely wouldn’t pay the full price of £30

I am sorry you dont feel £25 for 2 people with electric and heater in the shower room in March is good value, it is always a difficult decision as to whether to stay open year round (as many guests say they want me to as they cannot find any open in winter), or whether to close.
Whenever i read a review like yours it does make me sigh
As i said to you before and on arrival, I concede that we are under a pile of maint this time of year. Fibre optic being fitted replacing a mobile home, converting a small trailer to a bar, maint on one of the cabins and making a hot tub for the shepherd's hut in between rain mud etc in March is a massive task. LUCKILY most guests are extremely understanding and are happy to have an amazing view, some peace and quiet, and pleased that we are open and can see the vision and promise as this place slowly proves herself worthy of her positive reviews

Liked: The view and the wildlife in & around the site are magical. The site very peaceful. Sandy and her crew are working very hard to maintain and improve this little heaven. It is of course not always easy to maintain the same look & feel during the winter months but even in torrential rains, my wife and I had a truly great stay. It is also the only place that stays open all year around in the area.

Liked: Friendly welcome even in spite of the terrible wet weather and dark blustery evening. the shower, toilet, kitchen block was lovely and warm. It is difficult to write more as we only stayed one night on our way back home but I'm sure it would be a lovely place in the bright weather.

Liked: Shepards hut was absolutely lovely, nice big bed and kitchenette with a 2 top stove, got fire wood as well for a late night fire, the scenery was beautiful especially at night, such a peaceful get away and definitely one to remember

Liked: Great location, easy to find, beautiful scenery, lots of space for the little ones to burn off energy, chickens frequenting the pitch, really friendly and helpful hosts, I even forgot my power cable and managed to borrow one!
