The facilities were great! we particularly loved the special dog wash, and secure fields for dogs! Also the walk to the beach was super short and the pub not too far either :)

The only slight negative was having to pay £6 for wifi for a day for only one device - these days paying for wifi seems like it should be covered in the total cost (and certainly not that expensive or restrictive). Also, after paying for a day I got very slow bandwidth so I think there is room for improvement there!

Lovely well kept site,with mature hedges and trees,amazing toilet & showers spotless ,always bins available to dispose or recycling your rubbish,the Elson area always kept clean.All staff were so helpful and lovely.
The walks and beach are so accessible,also a pub close which is very welcoming and is great.

Great sized pitches in well established tree border fields.
Nearby pub had excellent food and service.
Lovely walk to nearby beach.
Mostly tranquil with respectful campers.

Group party of 8 adults and 11 children spoilt a couple of days of the trip.

How much space you have for your pitch and we looked out onto the open field which was lovely for our french bulldog as he felt he had some freedom, albeit on his leash :) we also thought the dog walking area was the best we’ve seen, undercover of trees and wooded area link onto an enclosed large field, Louie loved running off the lead in this area and just put the gate from this field is the most all pub, we went for food and drinks and wasn’t disappointed and very dog friendly. The small dog friendly beach and country park are only 5 mins walk away from the sight which was great. We stayed on a hot wk so the breeze from the sea was welcomed and Louie’s walk late evening along the beech was great.

We love it at Fen Farm, it is such a nice place to relax and unwind. We introduced our friends to the site for the first time and they will be going back.

A wonderfully clean, quiet and relaxing campsite. Washrooms absolutely spotless- toilets and showers. Wash up area very clean too and well resourced.
As to be expected, the field with the play park in it was quite noisy with families playing ball games in the middle and the park is in the field - but all seemed good natured. If you don't have little kids and / or want a quieter filed, the other fields were VERY quiet.
Relaxed check-out time as it wasn't full the next day (I assume) - this was so helpful.
A short 10 minute walk to the beach.
Little shop in the caravan site next door if needed.
Very welcoming and helpful wardens.
Would definitely return to this campsite if we return to Mersea Island.

Very windy on the campsite (not their fault I know!!!!!) - but we couldn't pack the tent away it was so windy, so we ended up stuffing it in the car and did it when we got home. I'm not sure if it's always that windy on the island, but it did make pitching, taking down and sleeping a bit problematic.

Obviously not the campsite's fault and maybe I should have researched the area a bit better! It is an island and the site is on the beach after all!
It wouldn't stop me returning of course.

Helpful staff immaculate facilities all within a short walk to the beach and local pub,really peaceful site with everything within easy reach of our pitch. Highly recommended.
