And the setting at Camping Municipal de la Court knows its stuff too. For it's on a teeny island (any sensible sort will be fond of teeny islands) and is by one of the isle's most beaut beaches for settling down among nature, calm and the sounds of the Atlantic. Over 80 kilometres of bike paths start in front of the site so you can cycle off and see this most beaut spot for your own self: and yes, bike hire is available on site...
Once you've pedalled or limped back onto site after a day's exploring, a pool is here to soak in or you could have a massage in the spa while the kids career safely around the site play area.

Local attractions
You might decide you want to live here, please. The island of Noirmoutier is a beaut and lovely place, covering over 45 square kilometres of a natural setting, in the Atlantic Ocean between Brittany and France's south-west.
The island is connected to the mainland by its well-known road, the Passage du Gois, used for the Tour de France twice and only accessible for a few hours a day during low tide. (Being on a French island and cut off from civilisation for most of the time? Oui, you might very much like to live here please.)
Eighty kilometres of cycling routes and 64km of walking trails connect the north and south of the island through villages and round wild Atlantic coastline, long stretches of beach and spectacular scenery all around.
The island is also a nature reserve and home to many bird species, and is a place of old French traditions like salt extraction and oyster and shellfish harvesting; when the tide is out, make like the locals and delve into the rockpools to find clams and cockles for dinner.
