Entrance to the site

General

  • Small peaceful wildlife haven within easy reach of famed beaches
  • Within 15 minutes' drive of Tenby, Saundersfoot and Folly Farm
  • Clean showers and toilets; campfires and barbecues allowed

Hide away here for as long as you can manage. Covert Farm Camping is a family-run haven in a Site of Special Scientific Interest, home to a wide variety of birds and wildlife living among reeds and trees... and it's only 10 minutes' from this splendid spot to the spectacular Pembrokeshire coast.

The owners have set the site up to be a peaceful getaway for guests who want to unwind in a wildlife haven. The farm is surrounded by fields for leisurely walks away from roads too, and a huge amount of family days out are close by: Saunderfoot, Tenby, Heatherton, Folly Farm and Manor Wildlife Park are all within 15 minutes' drive.

Gratified former guests have approved most fervently of this lovely little site, hailing the friendly team, the spotless amenities and the setting among more. Campfires are encouraged too as long as they're in firepits: these are available for hire along with firelighters, logs and kindling to buy.

The toilet and shower block has hot running water and washing-up facilities.

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Pitches are a brilliant size 10m x 10m, we were able to put our large tent, gazebo and car. Pitches a spaced far enough apart to not feel like your encroaching on others and the added bonus of been able to have electric hook up. Pitches are around the edge, allowing a vast field in the centre where the children played with all the other children. It was great to see. Toilet and shower facilities were always clean and free. 10mins to Tenby, Saundersfoot and folly farm via car, perfect location. We loved it here, I have already recommended it to everyone we know.

The field we camped in backed on to an amazing wildlife area that is occasionally grazed by some lovely horses who come to say hello. The campsite has lovely pitches and there are facilities for showers, washing up and recycling.

The owners are catering for people wanting a quiet nature inspired break and the birdsong and starry nights deliver this in spades. The area around has been left to be natural and we found orchids, birds and buzzy things in abundance around here.

The owners were very friendly and are rightly proud of the set up.

    Disliked:

This site caters for people wanting to get nearer to nature and the owners try to enforce the quiet policy, so it was a bit disappointing a small number of people wanted to drink and shout until the small hours on our first night. This wasn’t the owners fault but people should be aware that other party sites are available.

Covert Farm was just our sort of place, very simple, a field with good showers and toilets, washing up sink, fire pits you can hire with wood for £20 for weekend. Non of that horrible orderly camping, with people crammed in awful symmetry. A Fire pit makes such a difference when socialising on a chilly night, great to sit and stare at with a glass of wine, much better than watching tellie!
The owner was extremely helpful, nothing too much trouble, cheery but not too intrusive.

    Disliked:

The quiet easy going nature of the campsite. Staff were friendly and handed you recycling bags on entry which i appreciated.

    Disliked:

The shower cubicles. They were fine and functionally worked but they were a bit cramped and could have done with being bigger with more hooks etc. This is not a major dislike at all, just and option to improve in the future.

Local attractions

No more than 15 minutes' drive (handy if you have less than patient kids) will take you to an excellent range of family and sandy days out near the farm: take your pick from beach and paddling days, boat trips, wildlife adventures, amusement parks, castles... and a dinosaur park.

Saundersfoot 10 minutes' drive away is, along with Tenby, one of the most visited holiday spots in Wales, home to an award-wining beach and the Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo. Another award-wining beach is at Tenby, along with the ruins of Tenby Castle, boat trips to Caldey Island and the Tenby Dinosaur Park.

Two other famed Pembrokeshire theme parks are also within 10 minutes: Heatherton World of Activities and Oakwood Theme Park. Most kids should also clamour for a day at Manor House Wildlife Park, the only walking safari in Wales and home to exotic and endangered animals from around the world.

Then try and get your small sorts interested in a spot of history with ventures to Carew and Pembroke castles each within 10 minutes' drive: these are so splendid this might be easier than you think...
