Egremont Pines Caravaning and Camping: The pitches

General

  • Family-run site in a rural location with views of the Yorkshire Wolds
  • A 10-minute drive from Pocklington and 20 minutes from York
  • Spacious and level pitches; barbecue hut available for hire

Egremont Pines is a quiet family-run site set in peaceful North Yorkshire countryside. Tourers are welcome here, with facilities and an environment that's geared towards families and couples looking for relaxed breaks.

David, Deanna and other members of the friendly site team will help you settle in at Egremont Pines and have plenty of insider info about the surrounding area. The site looks out onto the Yorkshire Wolds, a low-lying range of hills with a number of excellent walking routes. You may also spot some of the site's pedigree alpacas wandering about in neighbouring fields.

Site facilities include showers, toilets, a laundry room and a washing-up space, as well as a barbecue hut you can hire for celebrations, meals or special events. Barbecues can be set up elsewhere in the grounds of Egremont Pines, but please do your bit to keep the grass green by raising any flames far off the turf.

The historic market town of Pocklington is a 10-minute drive away, while the ancient city of York is about a 20-minute drive. Wilberfoss (five minutes) is even closer and makes a handy pit-stop if you're looking for a local shop.

Please note

At least one of the party members must be aged 18 or over.

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro) and/or any of the following: Staffordshire bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, Rottweiler, any Mastiff or Tosa.

Please note that the toilet/shower facilities are unisex.

No bachelor/bachelorette parties permitted via Pitchup.com.

Guests are advised to bring a good quality torch with them as parts of the park are unlit.

Awesome site and Dave was really friendly. Excellent facilities.

    Disliked:

    Not enough showers and toilets.
1 toilet had no light or door lock.
    Very very noisy Cockerell.
Cleaning needed to be more often, especially during this pandemic.

Had an amazing stay at Egremont pines this weekend. The site is safe for children and dogs as it's set back from the main roads. The hosts are lovely and friendly and regularly checked on us to see if we needed anything which was a lovely touch. Unlike some campsites we have visited everyone respected the rules and were quiet by midnight which helped us travelling with a child. The site was clean and tidy and everyone cleaned up after themselves. The Alpacas were a lovely touch and the bbq hut and tree house were perfect for cooking our evening meals in. For the bbq hut I'd recommend taking your own pots and pans (depending on what your cooking) and tinfoil! Also you have to set your own fire so firelighters and charcoal would be a bonus!! We have already booked our next visit as we enjoyed it that much!!!

    Disliked:

Only 1 shower for females and one for males but this didn't bother us as we were up early so very very rarely queued for the shower however the owner did say they're building another shower block!!!

The site is pretty quiet, flat ground for your tent and has clean facilities. We were pitched next to the bbq hut and tree house which the children enjoyed. The owners are friendly and helpful. They have alpacas on the grounds which were friendly enough and the children found them fascinating. All in all we had a great time and would stay here again.
