Rambling FHU gravel and cement/asphalt RV campsite

Liked We were literally just there for the evening and a sleep in a camper van. Had a lovely meal, nice bar, barman friendly, separate bar for dog owners. Showers and toilets looked clean and lovely. Would stay again.

FHU gravel and cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked The shower block, some of the best showers we’ve used. The bar and restaurant had an excellent beer garden to relax with a drink in the evening, also had a lovely well stocked shop for pretty much anything you might need.

FHU gravel and cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked Very nice place. Very close to skipton. A nice breakfast in the area.

Disliked No tv signal what so ever. Most important was the touring caravan area is to open. No barriers. Your caravan is at your own risk. I did mention this to staff but was was told we have a bloke that takes care of the area. In my opinion he wouldn't be there to stop someone driving off with my 20 thousand pounds caravan. No WiFi. Would i stay there again. Yes. But not with the thing I have written.

Escapade FHU gravel and cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked We liked the showers, very clean. The warm water dog wash was great. Restaurant and grounds are lovely. Great base to visit other areas.

Disliked The pitches are very close together to the point we heard our neighbours snoring. No privacy which we value. Road noise was consistent as were passers by walking.

Local attractions

Head to Embsay Station (10 minutes’ drive) for a ride on the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway, but be sure to get there well before your train is due to depart to make the most of the tiny vintage café, which serves yummy home-made cakes. It’s also worth keeping an eye on the website for events like murder mysteries and driving experiences. At Thornton Hall Farm Country Park (15 minutes), the children can ride ponies, feed lambs or go on a safari drive through the grounds to see the resident deer herd. There is also an indoor soft-play area and quad bikes (for both kids and for adults, should you feel unfairly left out…) Need to wind down further? Take a day trip to Harrogate (35 minutes), where the Victorian Turkish Baths is a spectacular spot for a steam, a soak or an invigorating massage (or a cold plunge, if that’s your jam). At the Royal Pump Room Museum you can learn more about the history of this spa town, before heading to Betty’s Café Tea Rooms for scones and sandwiches.
