Powered grass travel trailer campsite

Liked: The drive on the road towards Lupine Woods was absolutely terrible. Big potholes, big dips in road, not something you'd want to drive a motorhome over. Was thinking we might lose our water pipes. But the place was OK. Small toilets block on wheels with 1 shower. Not brilliantly clean. It was actually a dog training centre on the grounds. But it was quite at night. Definitely take in all the food and drink you'll need because you don't want to use the road again unless you're leaving.

Disliked: The road going in. A nightmare.

Liked: The site was nice and quiet.

Disliked: The road In and out absolutely ruined it for us. Pot holes are huge and resulted in losing one of our caravan feet. It’s a real shame.

Powered grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: The fresh air and being in the middle of nowhere. A very basic site, but that’s all we wanted. Dog exercise areas for the dog. She absolutely loved it. Also a good walk around the campsite through some woodland. Great site for dogs, if your main focus is your dogs

Disliked: Pitch not very flat, with lots of lumps and bumps. Although not a great deal that can be done. Bloody moles. The road into the site leaves much to be desired.

From the manager: Many thanks for the review. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. I will get our mple man out again - pesky things are very active at the moment! Regarding the road we are on with plans to improve just waiting on the council to call a meeting of everyone involved - it's not our lane - if it was it would be done!

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Excellent camping site with clean toilet facilities, a dedicated field area for dogs to stretch their legs and easy access to the forest for a lovely walk.

Disliked: The only slight downside was the road leading to the camping site. It is a dirt road with loads of potholes.

Liked: Very roomy pitches, friendly greeting upon arrival, nice enclosed area to let dogs off

Disliked: Very very bumpy road coming into site so be careful :) would make more sense for rent pitches to be closer to shower / toilet block rather than caravans that usually have those facilities anyway

From the manager: Many thanks for your kind comments and taking the time to review. We are hoping that the council will help us to repair the land back to a smoother ride very soon.

Powered grass travel trailer campsite

Liked: Such a nice peaceful site. One of our dogs can be reactive however, everyone was really respectful of space and it was so easy to manage. The exercise field was fantastic and secure and the walks on and around the site were lovely we saw deer pheasant and some birds of prey. It was a really nice break where you can really get away from everything. There is no road noise either which is so nice when you live on a a main road! The toilets and shower were basic but always clean. The pitches are good sizes and there were only a couple of others on site at the same time so it was nice to be spaced out too. It was our first time in the area and the surrounding villages were really inviting. It’s been one of our favourite weekends away and I think our dogs enjoyed it even more. We will definitely be returning! Thank you

Disliked: The shower was didn’t get very warm but the weather was very cold so I don’t know if this was a factor.

From the manager: Thanks for the great photos - the dogs look happy and relaxed. We will always try to give reactive dogs space and dog owners are usually respectful on our site as they are just so pleased to have a dog friendly site. Its lovely to know it was one of your favourite weekends away - hope you will come back soon.

Local attractions

A couple of worthwhile attractions are within a 10-minute drive of this park, including the petting zoo and kids’ play area at Shepherds Place Farm. Travel the same distance for Epworth, the birthplace of John and Charles Wesley (10 minutes) too, or make tracks a tad further for transportation-related high jinks at The Trolley Bus Museum (20 minutes). Another ace selection of displays to add to the itinerary are at the aviation-themed Vulcan Experience (20 minutes), an open-air space housing two of the Cold War's most famed aircraft: the Avro Vulcan B2 and the McDonnell Douglas Phantom II. Prefer animals to aircraft? Yomp to Yorkshire Wildlife Park (25 minutes) and Messingham Zoo or meet the rescued creatures at Bransby Horses centre (40 minutes) instead. Top off your trip by traipsing around Brodsworth Hall and Gardens (40 minutes), one of England’s most intact Victorian country homes.
