What customers say
A peaceful, friendly campsite in a beautiful orchard with lovely country views. Guests loved the clean, quirky facilities like the pigsty shower block. The on-site restaurant and cider shop were big bonuses. Some noted limited electric hook-ups & long grass, and occasional wedding disruptions. Highly recommended for its relaxed vibe & welcoming staff.

Primitive grass campsite
Liked The most peaceful site you could wish for. Loved how the Sow and Boar blocks so well done with barrel sinks. Shower so hot just what you want after a night on the airbed. Visit the restaurant for a delicious meal, indulgent dessert and a pint of cider. Wow all round 10 stars.

Primitive grass campsite
Liked I loved Gwatkins... All of it.. completely peaceful, beautiful orchard (trees dripping in ripe apples and pears), fab views... Watching the tractor dump loads of apples into the juicing hopper.. the restaurant And the homemade cider! The loos and showers are in a converted pig sty and the hand wash basin is a stroke of genius!
Disliked It closes end October!

Primitive grass campsite
Liked Fabulous campsite set in the midst of an orchard.
The shower and toilet facilities are conveniently close by, and well-maintained. The on-site restaurant offers a wide variety of meals, which are both delicious and reasonably priced. If you're visiting during the busy camping season, I recommend booking your meals in advance - the restaurant is also popular with locals and can get quite busy.
The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming, which really added to the experience

Primitive grass campsite
Liked Warm and relaxed welcome, nice little shop with some good ciders. Quiet site with lots of space and parked in the orchard which was pretty. Easy to find and was a pleasant nights stay! Owner also recommended some pubs in either direction when we asked, and we ended up having a fantastic meal at The Boughton upon recommendation

Primitive grass campsite
Liked No set sized pitches. Non electric pitches were set in the orchard. Great, clean, toilets and showers. Beautiful countryside, sheep and cows in nearby fields, lots of birds and could hear Tawny owls at night
Disliked Nothing really. Unfortunately we didn't get to try the restaurant as it's closed Monday Tuesday. But that was my fault for not checking opening hours before booking the campsite.

Liked Excellent nights stay here 😊
We pitched up in the apple orchard field rather than the open field. You could pick any spot you wanted. The Sunday lunch (pork and beef) was incredible, and the different cider options were vast and strong! Plenty of walk options and beautiful views of the Golden Valley.
We were looked after from the minute we arrived. The fella with the red braces (forgot his name) couldn’t do enough for us and was always around the farm to be on hand to help.
Will definitely return if we get the chance.
