It's changed post covid, but what hasn't? Louise remembered us, which was lovely. Still a great place for the Southern Lakes, friendly and value for money. We'll be back.

Nice and quiet so you could get a good night's sleep. Charming farmyard setting with great views. Everyone was amused by a chicken which made itself at home in one of the wash basins. The camping fields were flat. Good walking routes to local villages.

The showers were a bit basic with only curtains for privacy but there were plenty. There was a queue for wash basins in the evening with only 2 in the ladies and 2 in the gents (but a chicken in one).

- The campsite was extremely quiet at night.
- The bed in the rail cabin was comfortable.
- Clean bathroom facilities
- Parking available
- Beautiful view of the valley
- Farm animals roaming free
- A small village a 10 minute drive away. The village has a few shops and a couple of pubs.
- No WIFI but phone signal was still strong

Not a dislike but a suggestion. It would have been good to a hot water facility as we had some food items that required hot water.

Fantastic isolated site. Very popular place staff and facilities were great . Definitely recommended

Quiet campsite, with excellent views and basic but clean facilities. Easy check in and flat pitches, although pitches are not marked so it has a first come first serve vibe.

The farm dogs were friendly, but the Jack Russell was very over friendly with our terrier and was intent on making a man of him, the Jack wasn't neutered either so bare this in mind if you bring an unspayed dog with you. He did also steal some of our dogs toys but we got those back when he left to go home.
The showers are a bit communal and the water in the toilet sinks was hit and miss at running, but we didn't expect luxury so we didn't mind. The huts are much closer to the loos and showers than the camping area is, something to bare in mind if you are not able-bodied.

Really felt back to nature. Good facilities and wonderful setting. The views are sublime.

Very dog friendly, great showers and washing up area, fire pits and logs available, friendly owners, no children.

Got a bit busy, at some points felt a bit cramped.

Location of the site.
The relaxed feel and quiet atmosphere. No loud music or groups was also nice.

Wasn’t so keen on dogs free roaming the tent area - but they were well behaved & did have a calm temperament.

Great site in a quiet location with good facilities! Lovely Louise is welcoming and very helpful.
Definitely returning here for another trip
