The view was stunning - Blencathra close up! Plenty of space in the camping field if you don't mind a short walk to the facilities. Friendly and helpful owners. Hire of firepit etc may seem pricey but actually it's worth it considering you get a big bag of logs plus kindling and starters. Good facilities which were mostly very clean. Nice and quiet at night.

No hot water in the washing up sinks and on one occasion I had a cool shower, I would have preferred it hot!
The lane nearby can be surprisingly noisy with farm vehicles and you can hear the main road unfortunately.

Great location to access the lakes. Loved the clean shower facilities with extras such as comfy chairs and a real hairdryer. The communal room with kettles and toasters were also a great idea and a real help for those without electricity

Location, lovely setting and surroundings. Easy accessible. Nice little play area and indoor common room.

The toilets were (and remained) dirty for our entire stay. It was difficult to get running hot water in the toilets/bathrooms. With the campsite being so close to the main road you can see and hear the traffic.

The facilities were spotless. Very clean and always topped up with hand wash and toilet roll. Loved the aspect of a community room with kettles, toaster, microwave, fridge/freezer.
Our teenagers loved the addition of the peacock and the hens to which they named them their own names for our stay. We would definitely return and recommend.

Shop was open limited time, in our opinion. The hiring of a fire pit and purchase of wood for the duration of stay…. We would have only wanted one fire in the whole stay. The field next to where we pitched was very uneven and we would have pitched there if flatter.

Overall a very lovely campsite, small but not compact. There is at least 4 fields for camping and there were a selection of pitches available including completely next to a small stream. The bathroom blocks were all clean, tidy, well maintained, incredibly pleasant, close to each area and in large quantities. The lady who greeted me was very nice and laid back, there was a small shop with the basics needed on a daily basis. There is also a good children's playpark next to the washing up area, the communal area (with a large fridge, freezer, sofa's, tables, books and WiFi), and the discreet waste disposal areas. The views are spectacular with mountains surrounding the pitches and then a sky full of stars at nighttime.

Pitchup advertise this as having parking next to the camping pitches. If you camp next to the river, there isn't parking next to your tent (there's a slop down to the stream/river). If you camp in the fields you can park near to the tents, the cars need to be on a hard standing car park area but the camping fields are around the car parking area so you could pitch up next to the car but this isn't guaranteed.

The camping was very close to a big road, so we could hear cars most of the time.

Beautiful farm location, peacocks, communal lounge for WiFi which was warm and comfortable with kettles, toasters, tables, sofas and chairs

WiFi not reaching the van which can be a bit annoying for older children in the evenings when they just want to relax
