Liked: The pitch was fine and study
The facilities were nice and clean and well maintained.Disliked: Walking area for dogs was a field you were not allowed to let them off.
Play area for kids was just another field not fenced off right next to the dog field. If there were fenced it would make it so much better.
No little shop or place to buy some amenities.

Liked: Facilities on site such as water points, toilets and showers are kept to a good standard.
Plenty of hot water on demand.
Plenty of open space on the tent fields.
Well connected for routes into York and surrounding areas.Disliked: Washing up room is cramped and only has two sinks, could maybe do with an outside washing up area.
Planned to walk around the lake up to Castle Howard for our visit, however the route is blocked by a large locked gate with barbed wire, better sign positing needs to be put in place if they are not going to allow this walking route to be used.

Our reception team are on hand daily to help and can show you the best way to go. We always advise against trying to climb over or go around any barbed wire. Guests are restricted from walking all round the lake because there is a charge for entry to the gardens as they are part of the visitor attraction. All visitors need to go in the main entrance to show/buy their ticket, however you can enjoy lovely views across The Great Lake of Castle Howard. We will pass your feedback on to the relevant teams.

Liked: Clean and tidy. Beautiful scenery and close to things to do. Close to the lake and to wildlife.
Disliked: No way of enforcing the 11pm noise curfew and was kept awake by people nearby until 3am. If staying in the overflow field , it’s a bit of walk to to the toilet.

Liked: We loved the peaceful ambiance the birds walks by the lake and to castle howard.
The pitches are level tidy, facilities are exemplary staff extremely friendly, helpful and informative.We will return for a longer break.
Disliked: Nothing to dislike really .
Although on three network there was no signal.
