Liked: The bar and option to eat on site
Disliked: Was a large party that took over the site - did not get a proper pitch - gift shop not open- no toilet paper but probably understaffed for the event - had to listen to bingo and karaoke- would have liked to have been warned and offered a cancellation as ruined my stay - probably very nice if you are not in the middle of someone else’s event

Liked: Only a few tents on the field which was good. Overall we had a lovely weekend but...
Disliked: Most of the facilities advertised weren't available.
Not enough showers.
No activities which is what they advertised and why we booked.
No kitchen or cooking facilities despite it saying on the website that there is.
Portaloos weren't cleaned.
Only two showers for whole site.
'On site shop' didn't sell camping supplies, more like a gift shop.
Other groups dogs were allowed to run around and pood by our tents.
No bins or water taps in camping fields.
Not sure what facilities advertised weren't available, maybe you could have elaborated more? As everything advertised is readily available.
All nearby leisure activities are available, you just need to book direct with them as they are nothing to do with Brook House we only advise what's in the local area, if you didn't have any contact details I could have provided them and more besides.
Yes we currently only have 2 showers with plans to add more. Even if we had 10 showers you was here during a bank holiday and like every site there will never be enough for some people during busy times as people don't like to wait.
Not sure where you have seen a kitchen advertised with cooking facilities, I have looked all through pitchup description and I can't find this.
Yes we have a shop on site that isn't a camping shop but we also don't advertised that we sell camping supplies.
The site rules are dogs on leads at all times if I see any dogs off the lead people are reminded that dogs are to be on leads at all times, unfortunately I can not be policing the site 24/7, if you have raised this to me when you was on site and I would have spoken to the group and reminded them of the rules.
There is 4 water taps around the site, one being near the gate as you go in the camping field. With regards to the bins we have a refuge area with 2 large bins and recycling boxes, not sure what more you expect.

Liked: There was plenty going on and a great atmosphere. We had wall to wall sunshine so that makes it fantastic anyway. Easy to find and good food and drink 😁

Disliked: Showers broken and dirty no hand towels to wash bins not emptied for over a week power cable shared four caravans to one socket for the power cables running across the driveway being run over by vehicles very dangerous pictures only one meter apart this site is only after your money doing our stay

Quite surprised by your review as during your 4 night stay here you had been in the Cafe/Bar everyday chatting away about day to day stuff and how lovely and quiet the site was, however I did warn you that on your last night (Friday) it would be quite busy. When you say the showers were broken, I find this very strange as everyone else managed to use them all weekend without any issues, maybe you didn't switch them on as there is a the pull cord with them being electric?? Why didn't you mention it??
The main bins are emptied every Monday, they was emptied last week y but as it was the bank holiday and people didn't leave until the Monday they soon filled up again quite quickly, I did explain this to you and you never complained and you was happy to just leave your rubbish next to the bins.
When you say four caravans sharing one socket, you do realise that there is 4 sockets per stack, so please be factual as there was not 4 caravan in one socket. How cables were running across the drive way is a mystery as you can see from your photo on the right is hard standing then grass where the others were pitches the cables were nowhere near the driveway. With regards to one meter apart it is quite clear from your photo that caravan are not one meter apart as the legal requirement is at least 6 meters apart.
Once again sorry Brook House wasn't for you but unfortunately you cant please everyone ;-)

Liked: Lovely little campsite, adult only area down by the river was perfect, lovely little bar area with a garden to sit out in, left to enjoy our stay, was really lovely and definitely will be back again.

Liked: was lovely weekend away , bar was fully stocked and had a light bite which was lovely . owners was welcoming and very helpful . had nice pitch by the river . fishing pool was very active having over 60 fish in a day perfect for beginners and kids to keep them entertained.

Liked: Absolutely loved our first time camping, we a lovely place it was we had a brilliant pitch near the river the views were amazing!
We went to the bar/clubhouse and checked in an meet the owner we were a little earlier but it wasn’t a problem! What a lovely lady she was too she made us feel very welcome nothing to much trouble.
We had a ploughman’s lunch for dinner it was delicious ordered drinks couldn’t believe the amount of gins they had also the hubby loved the fact they sell madri happy days . Will definitely be returning many thanks for a lovely stay .Disliked: Wished we stayed longer 😊

Liked: The family camp area was nice grass and ample space. The on-site bar/cafe was very nice. The lady who ran the site was very friendly and was keen to help with any local information and events.
Disliked: The site only had 2 showers, this was not enough for the amount of guests that were using the site. On a few occasions the owners husband was short tempered and rude to members of our group.

My husband was monitoring the bins on Monday to make sure the recycling was done.Has we have to pay by weight for the rubbish to be taken.
You came with enough to fill the large bin ,tent,air beds,broken chairs along with 6 large bags of rubbish.He only explained,we have to get rid of the rubbish,which is fine .But should not have to get rid of your whole car full of camping gear.We took the rubbish for you,not a problem.
Then you went back down the field and left all your old camping things down there.
So yes ,we were not very happy.
So when making a review please tell the whole story.
We always go out of our way for customers,but sometimes people take advantage.

Liked: It’s a lovely little site. The owner is very friendly and happy to help. The bed in the bell tent was comfortable. The Friday night pizza’s were amazing.
Disliked: There are only two showers and one toilet and some porta loos for quite a busy site, you need to be up early to get in for a shower without a queue.

Yes there was a large group that was on site but they hadn't overtook the site, all entertainment was done by 10pm.
The site was open to the public along with the cafe/bar, when the cafe/bar is open the shop is open, you have to enter the shop from inside the cafe/bar, maybe you was trying the outside door which is always locked.
There is 3 toilets and I would be very surprised if they had all ran out of paper at the same time, if you had brought this to my attention it would have been resolved.
On the plus side glad you like the onsite bar :-)
