Stargazing in California? How spectacular. Book an astronomically excellent tour with a local expert when you bed down at Palm Canyon Hotel and RV Resort, only 300 metres from the vast dark skies of the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park.
If the lure of stargazing doesn't make you starry eyed, a good range of daytime activities is within a couple of miles from here too: you could roar a 4WD around the desert on a driving trip, play tennis within 100 metres and golf within four miles, or investigate the diversity of the desert's wildlife with an afternoon at Anza-Borrego Desert Natural History Association and Botanical Garden a mile away.
Among this desert setting at Palm Canyon is a stellar choice of accommodation, a scenic setting, paved roads and first-rate facilities alongside a welcoming, casual vibe. Guests have access to a heated pool, hot tubs, a fitness room and a general store, and can eat at the Western-style bar-restaurant or cook on the fire rings or barbecues.

The Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, a short stroll from Palm Canyon, is the largest state park in California, set wholly within the Colorado Desert. Its 600,000 acres cover over 500 miles of dirt roads, 110 miles of hiking trails and over 550 types of fossil plants and animals discovered so far in its terrain.
The park also has 12 designated wilderness areas, where you can spot desert dwellers like mountain lions, foxes, jackrabbits, golden eagles, prairie falcons and – if you're lucky – the warily shy bighorn sheep. The Desert Museum a mile from Palm Canyon has information on the park's wildlife and history.
Also within a mile is the Anza-Borrego Desert Natural History Association and Botanical Garden, and the Borrego Art Institute and Art Guild, with gallery, pottery studio, classes, events and a restaurant. 4WD desert tours and Borrego Night Sky Tours are also within the same distance.
Slightly further away, you can see the Galleta Meadows Metal Sculptures within two miles, and access three golf courses within four. The Fonts Point scenic outlook is 12 miles away.

If you need to cancel or amend your booking, please give as much notice as possible so that someone else has the chance to book. You may wish to buy holiday insurance for cancellations and for your property/injury whilst away.
