What an array of active options is around splendidly set and popular Kamp Koren, in the Julian Alps close to the Italian border. And what an array of options is around without having to stir from the site too, including a fab adventure park with a high ropes course for swinging contentedly high up above. A climbing wall awaits for more high-up activity in this excellent mountain setting, along with a volleyball court, table tennis and pétanque court if your holiday tastes very much do not tend towards swinging among trees or expending much effort. The site's serene setting on the banks of the Soča river has it well placed for fishing too, or you can take to the waters for some kayaking, rafting or canyoning a few minutes' walk away. Kamp Koren is an eco-friendly site, a kilometre from the town centre of Kobarid and 10 from both the Italian border and Triglav National Park. The surrounding area has heaps more outdoor activities to tackle, including hiking and mountain biking on trails suitable for a range of abilities; guests can hire mountain bikes from the site and staff can help organise further activities including fishing, kayaking and paragliding. In winter, try skiing and other snowy sports at Kanin-Sella Nevea within a short drive. Whatever type of activity you plump for on or around the site, a fably luxurious evening will be available afterwards at the site's swish sauna, followed by a beer or two at the bar or a peaceful evening in the TV room. Or just amble around the grounds as the sun sets: spectacular mountain views are yours for the taking in almost any spot.

Liked: Man hat alles was man braucht in unmittelbarer Nähe auch zu Fuß keine Problem(Einkaufen in Koren,der Supermarkt hat ein sehr umfangreiches Sortiment( inkl.kleinen Baumarkt.

Disliked: Die Reservierung. Wir haben einen 10m WoWa angegeben,auf den Reservierten Platz hätte max ein VW Bulli gepasst,mit ausgefahrener Markise Das WC Haus an der Rezeption Könnte man mal Renovieren !

Liked: Stellplatz war groß und gut befahrbar. Leider etwas zentral und in der Sonne..aber da hatten wir einfach etwas Pech. Dafür direkt am Wasseranschluss. Schöne wilde Natur direkt um uns herum. Den Soca konnte man die ganze Nacht rauschen hören..herrlich.

Disliked: Die Duschanlagen und WCs sind etwas spärlich und veraltet am Hauptplatz. Das könnte modernisiert werden. WLAN "nur" in naher Umgebung der Rezeption.

Liked: Ich war auf dem Kamp als Alleinreisende als Zwischenstopp für vier Tage dort. Ich genoss den Aufenthalt sehr. Es war ruhig und erholsam. An der Rezeption waren sie sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Die Sanitäranlagen waren ausreichend und sauber. Ich hatte einen Stromanschluss, in dem ich selber Münzen nach Bedarf einwarf. Der Wasseranschluß war unmittelbar in der Nähe. Ich war im unteren Teil des Campingplatzes, was mir persönlich besser gefiehl. Es werden verschiedene Aktivitäten angeboten, ich entschied mich fürs Rafting. Dieses Ausflug startete mit einem kleinen Bus direkt am CP und war sehr schön und lustig :-) Ca. ein km entfernt gibt es einen großen Supermarkt. Es gibt auch ein Restaurant/ Cafe, ein kleines Geschäft und Frühstück wurde auch angeboten

Disliked: Die An- und Abreise war etwas spannend :-)

Liked: Absolutely loved this campsite. Although smallish it has everything you need. Clean toilets and showers, lovely little shop and a great bar which serves food. The staff were so helpful in organising a rafting trip and generally so nice. Location is perfect for Soca River activities and the village is only a 10 min walk. We had a pitch next to the river which was shaded by trees.

Local attractions

After active times fishing, canoeing, canyoning, mountain biking or hiking on and around the site, have a day of sightseeing at local town Kobarid, a kilometre away. Kobarid is best known as the site of the World War I Battle of Caporetto, when Austro-Hungarian forces clashed with Italian troops. Ernest Hemingway told the tale of the battle in his novel A Farewell to Arms; have an afternoon in the award-winning museum in the town centre to find out about it for yourself. World War I history hunters also have the Kolovrat outdoor museum within half an hour, around the trenches of the time dug between Kobarid and Tolmin. A hike of 30 minutes will take you to the Kozjak waterfall, among the most famed in Slovenia. Set out on a marked trail from Kobarid through the forest to reach its waters with emerald green pool at the bottom, a spectacular sight that's one of the regions must-sees. Kanin-Sella Nevea ski resort is 20 kilometres away.
