Camping Village Panoramico

Location excellent. Lots to do in the area and some great walking opportunities. Views to die for.

The pitch next to us had too many tents on it plus a large trailer taller than our tent. We felt very hemmed in - made out last night unpleasant

The VERY difficult left hard turn into the approach road to the camp (we bottomed out), when coming from the north. Very strongly recommend you drive up from Fiesole, ignoring any references to 2.5t road restrictions you may see (they refer to very small side roads and are ignored by all travelling to and from the camp), tired ablution areas, rampant mosquitos.

Everything we needed to be comfortable! Courtesy van into Fiesole! Quiet (no traffic noise). Clean toilets and washing area. The various levels and beautiful landscaping. Clean swimming pool. The awesome view of Florence and Fiesole. The fantastic restaurant with patio seating overlooking Florence. That amazing bottle of Chianti! How nice everyone was. The afternoon breezes. My husband, Peter, our 18 year-old grandson, Troy, and I enjoyed our stay. We all agree that this stop on our travels through Europe was our favorite.

That our schedule did not give us more time to spend at this lovely place.

Lack of view from pitch, like camping in a lay by, toilet blocks clean but very dated.
Hours journey in total into Florence by public transport

Great restaurant, little shop, pool, facilities. The staff at reception on arrival were friendly and helpful, spoke good English, and gave me a great pitch (though there were better ones as well). Easy 20 minute or 5 minute walk to shops and restaurants in Fiesole, or there is a free shuttle bus run by the site (I did not use) down to the main square and busses to Firenze. 40 minute bus ride into Firenze (Florence) or a pleasant 2 hour walk through woods and quiet roads downhill (bus ride back recommended!). Woodland walks on Mount Ceceri just next door.

The access road up to the site is very, very steep. I assess at least 1 in 4. My 2L Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV 4WD could only just get my 1.5 tonne caravan up the access road, after a run-up. I think the site have a Land Rover that can assist, and they have CCTV monitored in reception to observe those who are struggling... I advise a check of suitability and ability to climb such a steep access road, or ring the site for advice.

Wifi was of limited range around reception and the Restaurant/shop/pool, but was free.

Great view. Great pool. Great free bus trip into Fiesole. Then a bus connection to Florence.

A difficult trip up to the site for a motorhome. We were told that the GPS if followed takes you on tiny roads. It did and this was a nightmare!. Not ideal if you have a large motorhome! Small pitches.
