Stay in Italy by the sea at Villaggio Residence Punta Spin, a holiday village near Grado that's right by a long stretch of golden, sandy – and private – beach.

The resort is just off the north-eastern Italian coast, in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region between Venice and Trieste; six kilometres from Grado, connected to it by a bus line and a pretty cycle path (or by car in about 10 minutes), and an easy 15-minute drive to the ancient Roman city of Aquileia. Trieste is about 50 minutes away via a looping drive around the peninsula.

There's loads to do at this spectacular-looking park: as well as the handsome beach and all its associated basking, swimming and watersports, you can spend time in and around one of the two pools for grownups (kids have their own, with slide), or energise yourself somewhat with sporty options aplenty. Basketball, football, beach volleyball and two tennis courts await the active, alongside a gym, bike rental, and, more gently, a miniature golf course. And after all that? Trot off to the little wellness centre to dip into the sauna or Turkish bath.

A restaurant, pizzeria, supermarket and a bar with an ice cream parlour are also on site. Back at the sands, Punta Spin's private beach is free for guests to use; a separate area has parasols and sun loungers for hire.

really nice location and close to Grado, beautiful becahes, eletric and water right by the by ptich.

Disliked:

-dogs not allowed on private beach, had to take him to different beach away from the camp

-booked a seaview pith for our tent but was allocated a pitch without one. had to complain to get the right one, but this was sorted quickly.

-wanted to leave at 6am with the car had to park it out front the night before so we could leave as they wouldn't let it out till 7.30am otherwise apperently.

Il mio soggiorno presso Punta Spin è durato solo un pomeriggio e una notte:
il villaggio è situato in una bella posizione molto vicina al mare, distante alcuni chilometri da Grado. Il paesaggio, soprattutto all'alba e al tramonto, è molto bello e suggestivo ed è possibile ammirare in lontananza la città di trieste e buona parte della costa. Camminando fino in fondo su un lungo ponte di legno costruito sul mare, è possibile ammirare la città di Grado è più in lontananza le altre località balneari.

Parcela, która miała być z widokiem na morze (za dodatkową opłatą) była usytuowana przy samym śmietniku i przy tylnej ścianie baru. Bardzo głośno, nikt nie respektuje ciszy nocnej. Impreza w barze kończy się po 23 po czym trwa sprzątanie. Odgłos wrzucanych śmieci do kontenerów tuż za głową. O świcie przyjeżdża śmieciarka opróżniać te śmietniki. Jednym słowem nieprzespane noce

Liked:	Pobyt se psem bez problému. Všude čisto, příjemný personál ve všech prostorech(recepce, restaurace, obchod...). Spousta vyžití(bazén, kurty, moře, agility park, posilovna, minigolf...)

Local attractions

Grado, 10 minutes' drive away, is an excellent starting point for exploring the region: it's a medieval market town with old centre and old piles to wander around, and a waterpark too if all the historical submersion doesn't enthral the kids.

Venturing out further, arrange a boat trip from Grado to the Marano-Grado Lagoon and its islands, a prime spot for birdwatching as well as digging into more local history and culture around the old fishermen's houses. The lagoon is also home to the island of Barbana, most famed for its Marian sanctuary that's still active today; visitors are welcome.

The ancient Roman ruins, excavations and cathedral of Aquileia are within 15 minutes' drive; for a more shore-based settlement, make for 14th-century Duino Castle overlooking the Gulf of Trieste (30 minutes), where there's a museum and park. The 19th-century Miramare Castle in the Gulf of Trieste is 45 minutes from the site.

Trains to Venice (an hour and 35 minutes' ride) depart from Cervignano, 25 minutes away.
