- Family-friendly site under 10 minutes' drive from Vias
- Huge 8,000m² waterpark with slides, paddling pools and water corners
- Beach shuttle, restaurant, sports areas and three playgrounds
A vast amount of stuff is around to get stuck into on large and lively Domaine de la Dragonnière in Vias – with (much) more on offer in the site surrounds too.
Set a short drive from the Hérault department beach of Vias, this swish, popular and well-known family site will keep all ages occupied for aeons. The main star of the show is the waterpark, a mammoth and spectacular 8,000m² space made up of a big indoor pool and an outdoor Cuban pool complex with waterslides, paddling pools and Zen water corners (do see pics…)
Stacks of other options are around to pick from, including three pétanque courts, two volleyball courts, table tennis, a multisports area… plus three playgrounds and a bouncy castle for kids. You could also take the miniature train puffing around the park, or just seek out the best serene spot in which to laze under the sun: this big park has plenty.
Food is – but of course – well covered here as well: the restaurant is open throughout the season and an additional snack bar and two food courts open during high season. There's also entertainment of all sorts in the summer: check what's on when you arrive for activities all day and into the evening.
Domaine de la Dragonnière is under 10 minutes' drive from the commune of Vias. When you're up for further exploring this smashing part of southern France coast, a (free) shuttle bus runs from the site to the nearby sands.

Local attractions
The seaside resort of Vias is a place of fine sandy beaches and Mediterranean Sea views, well worth at least a few sandy days (Farinette beach is the one most popular with families). The town's also home to Europark Vias Plage, the biggest permanent amusement park in the south of France.
A short drive from Vias is another popular seaside town in Cap d'Agde, a family-friendly resort at the foot of an ancient volcano. Take a trip here for over 14 kilometres of beach, a waterpark, an aquarium, an acclaimed golf course and the Museum of Ephèbe, recommended even on seaside days for its artefacts from Greek, Roman and medieval times.
Also a must is the fab Canal du Midi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site made up of a 240-kilometre network of navigable waterways linking the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean. Hike or hack along its banks, pedal the Tour de France route or take a boat out onto the water; all are easy to access close by
Spectacular Montpellier, with its 14th-century cathedral, famed Antigone district, Place de la Comédie and many events and festivals, is just under an hour away.
