Tall Trees Glamping: View

General

  • Luxury safari tents on the edge of the Somerset Levels
  • Four and a half miles from Glastonbury
  • Egyptian cotton bed linen, cosy duvets, bathroom and log burner

Swish safari tents in Somerset an easy four and a half miles from Glastonbury await glampers at the spectacular little site of Tall Trees Glamping, on the edge of the Somerset Levels just outside the hamlet of Coxbridge.

The luxury safari tents here are in a roomy field with trees and plants, a wild meadow and its little orchard, which is the main communal space. Each sleeps six people and up to two dogs, in a main bedroom, twin bedroom and double cabin bed; all beds are made up with Egyptian cotton bed linen and cosy duvets. Safari tents also have their own bathroom with a shower, flushing toilet, basin, hot water and heated towel rail; log burners are provided indoors too for cosy evenings.

The site has bike hire and a games room. Barbecues and campfires are both allowed.

    Absolutely incredible set-up.
The lodge was immaculate - there were cleaning products, plenty of towels, the bedding was so clean (for a group of ladies, this was all very important!). We brought our own cleaning materials but it was not necessary.
The beds were so comfortable - all with heated blankets which was such a comfort.

There was plenty of space for us (4 in total) and the bathroom was modern, clean and again, perfect for what was needed and just a metre from the tent itself which worked really well.

The hosts were very polite, friendly and helpful - we went for a cycle in the morning on the bikes that are available to hire and then got back to play croquet. All the equipment is there to keep you occupied (if you like the outdoors).
Although we didnt use it, there was a great Pizza oven outdoors with a kitchenette area and plenty of seating and each tent had its own bench and outdoor sofa area (with a BBQ).

We all said it was a brilliant set up and really couldn't fault any aspect. We will certainly be returning. Thanks for an incredible stay!

The only thing I could think of that would have been nice was WIFI - however, that was only because I was keen to do some work on one of the days. This certainly doesn't detract from our experience and I appreciate the appeal of being off the grid when you are there.
There was 4G so you are not totally out of the loop.

We had a fantastic stay - even though it was very cold - the wood burner was a blessing and made a difference. The best part was climbing into a warm and very comfy bed at the end of the day. The kids loved the open space to run and ride their bikes. We will definately be back but this time when the weather is warmer.

    Disliked:

We didn't enjoy having to brave the rain and cold to go to the bathroom - but this is a minor dislike - hence still the 5 stars :)
