Swimming pool

General

  • Family holiday park with indoor and outdoor pools plus a fishing lake
  • A five-minute drive to Burnham-on-Sea and 20 to Weston-super-Mare
  • Sauna, Jacuzzi, restaurant, live entertainment, shop and play area

Run by a family for families, Home Farm Holiday Park really does have everything your travel crew needs for a satisfying stint in Somerset… including both indoor and outdoor swimming pools (open in the warmer months), with the latter having a mini water factory and a toddler splash zone. (Please contact the site direct for more information on opening times and special offers on entry to the indoor pool)

Parents can sprawl out on a free sun lounger during opening hours, while the kids swim at this site- only a five-minute drive from Burnham-on-Sea… or find a babysitter and make their way towards the well-stocked fishing lake to reel in common carp, bream and pike (with an environmental rod licence plus a Home Farm Fishing Permit). A fully equipped gym’s also here for the adults, along with a sauna, Jacuzzi and steam room for an extra fee. Got the pup with you as well? A special dog-walking area is on site to make sure they're all tuckered out before the drive home

Activities the clan can take part in together include live entertainment during the evenings at the Nite Owl complex –visit for the two amusement arcades, family-friendly restaurant and kids’ bar (check with the site directly for more information on the entertainment schedule). If the big game’s on, catch it on the live Sky and BT Sports showings (footie fans might also appreciate that a pitch is on site as well), or stream it on the free wifi while getting into the Somerset spirit by sipping on ciders. Just make sure to line the stomach beforehand with options from the takeaway menu or concoct your own meals using ingredients from the on-site supermarket.

It’ll be easy to get home speedily after stays here, as the park’s close to Junction 22 of the M5 motorway.

We felt completely safe with all Covid problems covered, eg: booking for swimming pool use and for ordering food. The site was well maintained and the mini-market well stocked with essentials. The staff were, on the whole, very pleasant, coping with the difficult circumstances. I loved the indoor swimming pool building - wooden beams etc. and the pool itself was big (I was the only occupant there at the time!) Which was just as well as changing out of wet things was challenging, the changing rooms, of course, being closed. Reminded me of beach holidays in days gone by!

    Disliked:

Unfortunately there was no WIFI to the pitches and only a possible limited availability outside the pub/restaurant. As we do not own a smart phone, we were not able to order food or book the pool. When I explained this to one of the Receptionists all she said was 'You have a problem then don't you?' Not very helpful. However the pool attendant subsequently suggested asking reception if they could book a session for me and another kind lady did so.

The pod’s were very clean when we arrived, they look small from the outside but you have so much room inside! The ladies at reception were so friendly and explained everything to us and answered all our questions. The shower was very powerful and stayed hot throughout! We had sheets and sleeping bags already there so no need to bring any of that. It’s a very quiet site so nice and relaxing! Also had free wifi which worked brilliant from the pod. We will defiantly be coming back!

    Disliked:

The only thing about the pod was the outside table, one of the legs at that top had snapped and we had to be careful with what we put on the table. There is also no bath mat provided and the bathroom floor got wet very easily but this wasn’t explained anywhere that we had to bring one.

Considering I went during a pandemic it was a good campsite, It was have been amazing if the entertainment was on. The park was good kids loved it. The outdoor pool was closed for the season but looked great. We went to the indoor pool which I dont think should be charged separately, there is no shallow end for children, it was warm and clean.. to much chlorine in the water it stripped my silver rings and have ruined them made our eyes very very sore..the food at the restaurant was reasonably priced and was good. Everywhere is pretty clean included showers and toilets.. and the site is very close to the town just a short drive or a walk away.

I would stay again.. probably in summer months and when they isnt a pandemic.

    Disliked:

The pool had way to much chlorine in and has ruined my jewellery.

Home farm was easy to reach from the motorway, a bonus. We could choose any pitch we liked, we were ideally near the facilities which were clean and tidy, the shop in high season would be plentiful, but it had whatever we needed, the pool fabulous lovely and warm we had this to ourselves every morning.
This site is ideal for visiting many places.

    Disliked:

It was a pain not having wifi, you had to go to reception or the club house if you wanted this, also you had to book the pool on line, although there was a receptionist in the pool whom could have easily have done this, she was having to turn people away, Covid was blamed safe distancing was in place so could not see the problem, also if you needed the loo you had to the toilet block outside.

Very clean and tidy site. Well looked after.
We stayed on a super pitch which looked brand new. Best one we have ever stayed on. It enabled us to use our own facilities as much as possible, easily. We didn't need to leave until 6:oopm on last day

    Disliked:

Some residents were ignoring covid rules in toilet/shower blocks (no masks or using hand gel). We avoided area as much as possible.
There was a rule about not using certain appliances (One said don't use high energy equipment and one said don't use appliances from home which was confusing). This we didn't pick up until we arrived. We normally use a 1kw fan heater which is versatile and effective. We had a 2.4kw supply and I understood what that means - should be nothing to do with whether it is for home or camping so long as it is safe and within limits. Campsite's electric supply was up to standard to keep everyone safe. Shouldn't have been a problem.

Local attractions

This park’s close to Somerset attractions including Britain’s shortest pier at Burnham-on-Sea about a five-minute drive away. If you’re up for a longer stroll, this coastal town also has a 2.5-mile promenade to wander on with shops and restaurants lining the front.

For a bigger pier, head to Weston-super-Mare's seafront jetty a 20-minute drive up the coast and check out the old buildings of this Victorian-era resort while you’re there. For more browsing after dipping in and out of the town's antique shops, the discount outlets of Clarks Village are about half an hour away from Home Farm in the car.

Splurging got you feeling peckish? Inland, and about a 20-minute drive from the site, is the tourist town of Cheddar for stocking up on the famed cheese and then taking it along to the scenic gorge nearby for a picnic...
