From anywhere on our beautiful farm you can see you’re in the heart of picture postcard Devon. Watching our tranquil herd of Friesian cows lazily wander home from a day's grazing on our organic fields and meeting our kune kune pigs, sheep, ducks, geese and chickens in the animal paddock or having your own chickens to look after will soon lift the cares of urban life from your shoulders.
With our 10 tents, two of which have private hot tubs, and the converted 'Old Shippen' (milking parlour), we regularly host and cater for a range of events and groups, from walking parties to celebrations to corporate functions or days. An added attraction is our Wild Wanderer forest school, loved by adults and children of all ages. You can learn about woodland crafts, shelter building and many more woodland skills. A whole day of actitivities and fun includes lunch and is best booked in advance. Adult groups have also found it a great way of team building and bonding.
Beyond the boundaries of our farm are activities and attractions that include our local town of Tiverton and two National Trust properties within five miles of us. Those interested in history will also love Exeter, with its majestic cathedral and underground passages, while the active can play golf, go coarse fishing or horse riding, or embark on any one of the beautiful walks across Dartmoor or Exmoor. From Billingsmoor you can also choose to spend a day at one of two coasts - the strikingly rugged scenery and brilliant surfing found to the north, or the award-winning soft sands found to the south. The wonderful accessibility of Billingsmoor farm comes thanks to our proximity to junction 28 of the M5, though you wouldn't know if was there once you get back to the tranquillity of the tent.
We are very proud of the food and drink that is produced locally and can supply you with hampers packed with local supplies. Rather unusually our farm larder also stocks a wide range of locally produced pottery and art as well. Our hearty farmhouse breakfast is available every day and is cooked with local ingredients. We can even arrange for you to purchase casked ale from the brewery next door. Our shower block is modern and centrally heated with points for you to plug in your hair dryers.
