General
- Well-maintained and peaceful farm site in the Staffordshire Moorlands
- A 10-minute drive from Leek and on the edge of the Peak District
- Surrounded by 150 acres of hills and woodland for wanders
Set off on a foray at Fairboroughs Farm Caravan Site and you’ll be in good company – this spot 10 minutes’ drive from Leek, with roots stretching as far back as the 13th century, has been a popular place for stays in the Staffordshire Moorlands and on the edge of the Peak District National Park since 1967.
Visitors are said to return to this place year after year, because of the Lowe family’s hospitality as well as the lovely location, so it’s a brill bet for friendly breaks in scenic surrounds. Make sure to pull the owners aside for a chat after you arrive – they’re always happy to share info on the local area, including which country pubs they’d recommend.
Speaking of the surrounds, they're chock-full of cycling and walking trails. While on wanders through the 150 acres of hills and woodlands circling the park, stay on the lookout for red deer as several guests have spotted these rare creatures prancing about.
Cast your gaze over the working sheep farm’s animals too, including hundred of ewes and lambs, along with free-range chickens, ducks, pet ponies and dogs. Got your own canine? They’re welcome to come along for a hol as long as they’re well behaved.
Other key bits and bobs to note are that the TV reception’s decent at the park and there’s a security gate for safety. Off site, Rudyard Lake’s a 10-minute drive away for sailing, fishing, canoeing and row boating.
