Highcliffe Farm Campsite: Campsite

General

  • Back to basics family-run site on a working farm
  • A five-minute drive from Buxton and 20 minutes from Bakewell
  • In the Peak District National Park, just off the Limestone Way

Highcliffe Farm Campsite is a family-run Derbyshire site on a working farm five minutes’ drive from the smart spa town of Buxton.

This is a scenic and peaceful location with grass pitches that look out over quiet farmland to the backdrop of the Peak District National Park beyond. Fancy a closer look at that scenery? Of course you do – and it’s easy to get out and see some of it on the Midshires Way footpath, which runs just past the site.

And of course there are plenty more excellent spots to explore around here too: from here it’s easy to get out to such places as Bakewell and the Chatsworth Estate, or for walks on the High Peak Trail. Mam Tor and Dovedale are within a half-hour drive as well.

The facilities are fairly simple at this back to basics site, but guests will have access to a portaloo and a washing-up area, and you’re welcome to bring along dogs and barbecues. Barbecue supplies can be picked up at the supermarkets around Buxton, or the farm shop five minutes’ drive away. There are plenty of pubs and places to eat in the town centre too if you’d rather let someone else do the honours, with woodfired pizzas available on site every Saturday evening.

Please note

Twin axle vehicles are not permitted on site.

This park has no on-site shower facilities.

No bachelor/bachelorette parties permitted via Pitchup.com.

Reception is unmanned after midnight. Please inform the park while on your way there should you expect to arrive after this time so that the team can provide information about your unit/site.

Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Guests are advised to bring a good quality torch with them as parts of the park are unlit.

Minimum spacing of 2 metres between pitches.

At least one of the party members must be aged 18 or over.

Please note that the toilet facilities are unisex.

Dogs are not allowed in the on-site accommodations.

We had an amazing time at this campsite. Leading up to the trip I had a few questions about the campsite itself and Olivia was always more than happy to help out. Loads of space between pitches so it felt very safe as you were not on top of the next family and had the pick of what area you wanted to pitch in. Olivia also came to check on us later in the evening and in the morning to see if we needed anything so felt well looked after. It's very close to Buxton village by car so you could easily go and get extra supplies or have a nice wander through there as the town itself is very beautiful aswell as the scenery on site
