Liked: The owner is absolutely lovely, the site is quite and yes the fishing is awesome, it’s like hook a duck, the toilets are cleaned but do get quite grim after a while, but that’s camping
Disliked: I am a massive animal lover and I saw two cats, one ginger and one tortashell, both were skin and bone, the fish are very underweight and far far to many fish in a small pond, the reason they are so easy to catch is because they are hungry I even spoke to a match fisherman who said the same, fish were very thin, it needs half the amount removing, it clearly states no fishing after dusk this is obviously ignored by many repeat returners, and I didn’t enjoy the smell off canabis wofting in the air, if your going to have rules they should be adhered to, no matter who they are, kids fishing on their own was not only frightening but the stress on the fish must off been awful, and extra showers and toilets really are needed there is one shower for men and one for woman as with the toilets and no disabled facility’s and anyone disabled would struggle, and other than fishing there is nothing for children at all on this site

Liked: Shower / toilet facilities, small fridge / freezer made our stay so much more comfortable and due to the small size of the campsite there was never a queue to use the shower. The small lake was full of fish and my 11yr old was happy with a catch sum of 16. Very hospitable owners on site in case you need anything. 3 local pubs and Wren Farm deserts less than 5 mins away is a must. Pitches are generous for tents. Several beaches with car parking 10 mins away - Marsh Land beach / Anderby Creek a favourite. We are already planning another stay as so many more beaches further north to explore.

Liked: Absolutely beautiful setting, so relaxed and hassle free. The kids loved watching the fish in the lake, night time was so dark you could see the milky way 😍 perfect, we will be coming back!

Such a beautiful site, peaceful, relaxing, the pitch was large to accommodate our tent,

Thank you for your review but it must be an honest review!
Firstly, my cats are in immaculate health and they are definitely not skin and bone! As an animal lover myself my cats are seen regularly by the vets for their yearly checks and they are in a clean and well kept condition.
As for our fish! Our fishery is kept in a very good clean condition. Our fish are extremely well looked after they are a good weight of up to 20lb for a small lake. We are match fishermen ourselves and must say our fish are in very condition. The fish are fed regularly and throughout the winter too.
We ask the parents regularly not to allow children on the fishing swims without an adult. Unfortunately we can’t be out on site all day and we hope that parents will abide by the rules.
I think judging from all of our immaculate reviews they clearly speak for themselves.
