Friendly staff, excellent fresh bread from shop. Good value substantial meals at cafe. Pitches a reasonable size and flat.

Bring your own toilet roll in toilets.
Campsite looking a bit bare in early April as trees not in leaf yet. Would be nice and shady in Summer.

The area round the campsite is a bit run down, though the bay is beautiful.

Easy to get to from Santander ferry port. Position close to the beach; allowed to choose which pitch we'd like on arrival; local town Castro Urdailles and the convenient bus stop and cycle options; very friendly helpful staff.

Access was down a steep slope, a little daunting with a caravan; pitches were cosy

Scruffy appearance. Approx two thirds of the pitches are taken up by seasonal pitches. Many of the caravans on these pitches appeared to be either abandoned or in a poor condition.

Small pitches. The pitch was only just wide enough for the caravan and awning and only just long enough for our 7.5m caravan. Deep gully across the entrance to all pitches which had to be boarded to allow the jockey wheel to traverse.

No space for the car which we parked on a neighbouring vacant pitch

The pitch was far from level and we ended up with blocks under the rear steadies and one wheel raised 10cm on our Lock ‘n Level.

The EHU points required a EU plug converter (which we had brought with us fortunately) however the power tripped just with the load from the caravan fridge. Campsite staff eventually let us plug into another EHU point which had enough power to run the fridge but not the Alde hot water.

Expensive site shop.

Shower block was in a poor state of repair.

Camp was very tight to enter from a steep hill with a sharp turn to the right to tight for twin axle caravans

Beach, bus stop and restaurant/bar nearby. Restaurant staff were pleasant and food was reasonably priced.

We loved how close it was to the beaches, the shop and cafe was wonderful and the staff very friendly. The facilities especially the baby bath was much appreciated.

The playground could do with an upgrade as there were some loose bits there that my kids hurt themselves on. Also there was a lot of rubbish in the bushes and plastic, but otherwise the place was clean and services were fabulous.

Clean, quiet, good sized pitches. Lovely beach. Local bus leaves from the gate. 3 nice restaurants close by.
