General
- Riverside site in the Doubs Regional Nature Park
- A 10-minute drive from Saint-Ursanne and 20 minutes from France
- Restaurant with verandah set right by the river
Clap your eyes on that scenery – tis terrific. As is the setting of the swish little site of Camping Tariche by the Doubs river and in the Doubs Regional Nature Park: 'lovely', 'beautiful views' and 'very picturesque' are just a taster of how previous and chuffed guests have summed this spot up.
This peaceful Swiss countryside site is in an area popular for scenic hikes, river swims, canoeing, kayaking and mountain biking, and is six kilometres or about 10 minutes' drive from the small Jura town of Saint-Ursanne. This is lovely land, whether you're town sightseeing or countryside strolling – or you could just settle down by the river with book, picnic and fishing rod...
Eats and drinks are covered all the day long at the Camping Tariche restaurant, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner to have on the shaded terrace or the verandah, set right by the river. To do it all for yourself (preferably right by the river too), campfires and barbecues are both allowed.
Amenities include hot showers, full bathroom facilities, a washing machine, a dryer and a communal kitchen that can also be used as a games room; there's a TV here too so no need to miss the footy or other top sporty events.

Local attractions
The pretty little Porrentruy District town of Saint-Ursanne is about seven kilometres from the site: ask at the tourist information centre for details on the many local activities on offer such as canoeing and kayaking, paragliding, golf, archery, cycling, mountain biking and electric bike hire. Plenty of walking and cycling trails are in the area too.
Saint-Ursanne is a handsome spot to wander around for an hour or two, with medieval buildings and a Romanesque church, and an 18th-century bridge over the Doubs river (this is the place to snap your photos). You could also clamber up the 190 steps of the hermitage of St. Ursicinus, or up to the castle ruins to Saint-Ursanne's north; pick up a 'St-Ursanne on Foot' flyer to plot your adventurous route.
If you'd like to venture further, an 80-kilometre path runs from Saint-Ursanne along the Doubs to Les Brenets, via the Clos du Doubs nature reserve and spectacular views over the Vosges towards the Freiberg mountains. You'll also pass the caves of Réclère, caverns of a kilometre and a half (and many a stalactite) to potter through on a guided tour. A dinosaur park is also at the caves.
Alsace and France are within easy reach, about 20 minutes' drive to the west.
