a little to noisy as there were cows with bells just above the camping and the bells were ringing all night. I would suggest to transfer the cows in another location during the night or to remove the bells. It also was noisy for the roads which is to close to the camping.Little bit crowded.

We stayed here for 7 nights in late August. We all really enjoyed the stay, the site was easy to access (a few minute from the motorway) a supermarket a few minutes drive away, fresh Croissants and bread available in the mornings (pre ordered) the staff were polite and helpful, nice clean tidy site, 10 showers consisting of 5 male, 5 female, nice outdoor pool, play area for the children, some permanent residents on the campsite, all nice and polite tho, we will hopefully stay again in the future.

Everything. Le Bivouac is a lovely little site with everything close by. The proximity to Vevey, Montreaux and Lausanne is great. We even popped over the Grand St Bernard Pass into Italy for a pizza and some sightseeing.

This is THE site to stay at in Switzerland for a calm, relaxing Swiss holiday.

We've fallen in love with Switzerland and Le Bivouac.... we will be back for longer.

JUST TWO SHOWERS (MEN) AND ONE OUT OF DUTY THE TWO DAYS WE STAYED THERE. BASIC BUT CLEAN AND LOT OF HOT WATER
TOO MANY FIX CAMPERS EACH ONE WITH THEIR EXTREME SELF-CUSTOMIZATION OF THEIR ASSIGNED SPACE CAMP. IT'S MORE A RESIDENCE FOR FIXED-CARAVANS THAN A PROPER CAMP SITE.

From the manager...

Thank you for the comment. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. I feel sorry that you didn't found all the showers, we have ten shower cabins. You should have asked me.
The campsite is mixed with about 25 touring pitches and 3/4 of the campsite is composed of fixed caravans or mobilhomes, as are most of the campsites in Switzerland.

I hope you had a nice stay in Switzerland though.

Best regards

Everything! The campsite is very pretty as it is surrounded by mature trees and rolling countryside. Although we didn't use them, the children's play area and pool are attractive and natural to the setting. The toilets and shower area are clean and large, enough for all on the site without feeling you have to hurry. The owner and staff are very helpful and work hard to keep the site attractive and clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would happily recommend it.

Local attractions

Camping Le Bivouac's local village of Châtel-Saint-Denis and the nearby hamlet of Prayoud are on the Inventory of Swiss Heritage Sites and are handsomely well worth a scenic wander around, to see such sights as the Saint-Denis Church, listed as a Swiss heritage site of national significance.

Montreux, right on Lake Geneva at the foot of the Alps, is also well worth a wander for its many heritage sites like Crêtes and Châtelard castles, the Marché couvert, the Audiorama and the Territet – used in its previous Grand-Hôtel life as the recording studio for Deep Purple's album Machine Head.

Also get hither to Gruyères, the medieval town famed for its cheese, the towns of Bern, Fribourg, Lausanne and Geneva, long leisurely walks around Lake Geneva, and the top of Moléson mountain, accessible by splendidly scenic cable car.
