Have a happily-priced holiday home for a bargain break or an economic extended hol at Parque Orbitur Valverde: we think you'll find a fair bit to do in the Faro region too. Like lively Lagos, seven kilometres away, the Praia da Luz within three and a peaceful nature reserve also only a few kilometres from base... And the site is easy to get to too, as Faro International Airport is within about an hour's drive. Parque Orbitur Valverde has a seasonal outdoor pool for adults and kids, a multisports field, tennis courts and a playground. Lots of amenities are handy too, like six shower blocks, a mini market and a convenience store, a snack bar and a self-service and takeaway restaurant.

Liked: Lovely site within walking distance of the beach at Praia Da Luz. Hosts are lovely and helpful. Facilities clean and lots of hot water to shower.

Disliked: WiFi only at the WiFi site near reception.

Liked: Nothing.

Disliked: Pitch described as hard standing gravel. It was compacted mud and when it rained it was sludgy. Toilet and shower blocks out dated. I would call this campsite a slum nothing more we slept the site early as clearly not up to standard. 10 amp electric constantly tripping. We would not recommend this site to others totally disappointed. Stay away.

Liked: Das Personal war höflich und hilfsbereit. Die Lage ist in Ordnung. Man konnte mit Taxi und Bus günstig nach Lagos fahren, um dort etwas zu erleben.

Disliked: Leider sind die Stellplätze für Wohnmobile eine Katastrophe. Der Untergrund matschig und schmierig. Die Matte vor dem Wohnmobil ist so stark verdreckt, wir konnten sie nur noch wegwerfen. Der Preis steht in keinem Verhältnis zur Leistung.

Liked: Localización, la comida y la atención del restaurante.

Disliked: Los baños con poca presión en el agua, el baño tenía sensor para encender la luz para cuidar el planeta, pero por otro lado se dejan las luces del 🏕️ encendidas toda la noche, gasto innecesario y molesto para las tiendas. Siendo el horario de descanso a las 23:00 se podría apagar las luces del 🏕️.

Local attractions

Lovely Lagos, home of lively nightlife and once the link for trade between Portugal and Africa, is a short drive from Parque Orbitur Valverde. It's a popular city of Portugal and the Algarve and known particularly these days for its parties, but it has a couple of thousand years of maritime history to submerge oneself in too. The beaches of Lagos are many and varied – do try and get round them all – and you should also make time for a boat ride to spot the area's dolphins, and a trip to see the local sea caves. If you're a golfer, the famed greens of Boavista and the course of Palmares Golf are both just a 20-minute drive away.
