Take the private path 10 minutes or so from the site to reach the local beach of Lido Arco Naturale, a private stretch overlooking the sea between Palinuro and Marina di Camerota. Sun loungers and beach umbrellas are available to hire if you're in contentedly idle mode; swimming and snorkelling are tiptop around here if you're feeling somewhat active. If you're feeling even more active, access one or some of the hiking trails within easy reach from both Palinuro and Camerota, or a little further afield beginning at San Marco di Castellabate and finishing 11 kilometres from there at Punta Licosa. For an easier option, walk the 45 minutes or so to Palinuro, and then from there about 20 minutes in either direction to reach more spectacular Tyrrhenian coast beaches, or to book a boat trip to the Blue Grotta in Capri and other regional sea coves. Also well worth a day out at nearby are the hillside town of Centola, reachable from Palinuro by bus; the abandoned village of San Severino, about 10 minutes' bus ride or 15 minutes' drive from there, and the Greek and Roman ruins of the archaeological site of Velia, 40 minutes' drive from the site. For day trips, try a trek around the ruins of ancient Greek city Paestum, seaside times around the Amalfi Coast and Capri, and a look a the Certosa di Padula monastery, part of the UNESCO-listed Cilento World Heritage Site along with Paestum and Velia.
