  • Family-friendly Wallonia site 10 minutes' walk from Durnal village
  • A 20-minute drive from Dinant's fortress and adventure park
  • Café, bar, sauna, hot tub, playgrounds and outdoor gym on site
Rustique indeed is Camping Le Pommier Rustique, surrounded as it is by a peaceful part of the Wallonia region. But though it may be rural, it’s also rather well connected – the village of Durnal is a 10-minute stroll away and the slightly larger Spontin a five-minute journey by car or bus. You could head to either for supermarket supplies if you’re self catering, or delegate all cooking activities to the folk on site. This, after all, is a place that likes its food: the café serves up a range of warm dishes, grilled goodies and snacks, including proper Belgian fries (woe betide anyone that dares call them French fries…) Ice creams, coffees and cocktails are also on the menu, as is a fine range of Belgian beers to sample your way through. To atone for some of those hamburgers, croque monsieurs and beers, you may opt to have a workout at the outdoor gym, play a game of volleyball or hire bikes for a ride in the rural surrounds – any such efforts can be rewarded with a soak in the Jacuzzi or a steamy session in the sauna. Kids, meanwhile, can let off steam at the playgrounds (one for the real tiddlers, the other for slightly older ones) or bouncing on the trampoline. Table tennis and pétanque are also here for folk who fancy a gentle level of activity, and high-season guests can join in with frequent tournaments. Win or lose, there’s often a party to restore friendships of an evening, or a big sporting event on the TV to divert your attentions.

Electric optional hardstanding motorhome pitch

Electric optional hardstanding motorhome pitch

Liked: Handy for 1 night stopover, Quiet area nice view over the valley.

Disliked: Shower water was extremely hot, No toilet paper or soap in the toilets, also but generally as with most French and Belgian campsites toilets do not have toilet seats, or sink plugs.

From the manager: hi dears, thank you for your comment ; we are exactly a campsite on your way to or coming back from holidays ; thank you also for the precision : no toilet paper or soap or sink plugs , generally valid for each campsite in Belgium ; regards, olivier CAPELLE

Electric optional hardstanding motorhome pitch

Liked: Lovely campsite. We had pitch 106 and a stunning view and right near toilets. Toilets were always spotless. Ladies do have toilet seats, men don't. A bar on site also which was really reasonable. Also served food after 6pm. Very close to the motorway aswell to continue our journey. We would definitely recommend

Disliked: Our only issue was the showers were far too hot.. we couldn't stand underneath them. Nothing else

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked: Site was friendly and easy to get too. Good play parks for the children and would do for older kids as well

Disliked: Pitches were small and the shower block whilst clean was tired and small.

From the manager: thank you for your comment ; I do'nt understand why you wrote : the pitches are small ! they all make min 80 m² for tents and 100 m² for caravans or campervans ...AND , the MOST important thing to say : you can choose your pitch by yourself , so what is the problem ??? then , the shower block : you have 3 possibilities on the site ; they are clean each day , 2 x/day , in high season and 1x/day in middel season and 2 x/week in low season (december, januari, februari) ; regards, olivier CAPELLE

Electric optional hardstanding motorhome pitch

Local attractions

If you’re after more activity once you’ve warmed up on site, divert to Dinant Evasion (20 minutes’ drive), an adventure park with treetop trails, paintballing and kayaking, or aim for Yvoir Island (20 minutes) for waterskiing, swims and high-speed inflatable rides on the river. Cycle trips are a fine way to get out and about locally; if you fear going astray from your chosen route, banish any such possibilities by getting in the saddle at Les Draisines de Molignée (25 minutes), a velorail that runs along an abandoned railway line through the pretty Molignée valley. Another fab ride nearby is the cable car in Dinant (20 minutes), which glides up to its medieval fortress for some excellent views. Château de Vêves (15 minutes) is worth a stop if you like a handsome building, as is the slightly bonkers Grotte Saint Antoine De Padoue (10 minutes), an elaborate manmade rock church. Love the Belgian beers? See where some of them come from at Brasserie de Bocq brewery (10 minutes), where tours are signed off with samples to sip.
