  • Friendly and simple site steps from the Pembrokeshire Coast Path
  • Above dog-friendly Caerfai beach a mile from St Davids
  • Well-kept amenities and dog friendly
Sunsets over the sea and the spectacular Pembrokeshire coast… simply stunning. If you like the sound of that, you’ll most likely love a stay at St Davids Farm Camping, a simple site a mile from Britain’s smallest city. This peaceful place prides itself on a friendly and relaxed atmosphere – the four fields here are part of a working farm where you’re welcome to pick your own pitch. No need to fight for the best spots either, for all fields are treated to those spectacular views over St Brides Bay and equally easy access to the coast. There’s plenty of space for kids to play games around the site, and dogs are welcome, both here and on Caerfai beach a leisurely 10-minute amble away. Walks are a top pick in the area around the site, with the Pembrokeshire Coast Path just a few minutes away. The site's basic amenities include well-kept gents’ and ladies’ toilets and showers; standpipes for drinking water, and picnic benches. There are plenty of places to retreat to for eats and drinks in St Davids.

Disliked: The distance to the water taps & toilet/shower block is a little far but we found it easy enough to drive over.

Liked: What an incredible place. I seriously don’t understand why this place isn’t completely full. Fantastic welcome, wonderful location with free choice of where to pitch and great facilities, including new shower and toilet block and cafe. It even has direct access to a stunning cove and beach. St. David’s is a beautiful place and St.David’s Farm is the perfect location to enjoy it from.

Liked: Rob the owner or the property is an absolute legend putting all his customers first, from the moment you arrive Rob was very welcoming, but to be fair everyone is absolutely friendly and patient and someone is always available for any quires. Daniel was constantly working (grafting) keeping everything spotless and was so polite and helpful such a credit to the team. The Cafe onsite was delicious and very reasonably priced and very handy for days you couldn’t be bothered to cook or just wanted to relax. The site is perfect for a peaceful getaway with plenty of space between each camper and being able to pick your own spot is such a bonus. The facilities were very clean and offer a great view when doing your dishes. The toilet/shower blocks are constantly being cleaned, being able to have a hot shower at anytime was lovely. The beach is only a short walk away and is perfect, not too busy. The shops and town were all a short drive away and within walking distant makes this a perfect site. My children loved the site and felt completely at home. Rob and the team thanks again

Liked: We loved everything. Rob was fantastic - this will be where we come from now on with the kids. The drive is 100% worth it. The arrivals brief was thorough and welcoming, they genuinely want you to enjoy it here and offer free power charging and cold pack freezing facilities. Facilities are excellent and the showers were hot with great pressure - toilets were spotless also. Friendly people everywhere. Coastal path a stones throw from our pitch, wild blackberries on the way down to snack on and then a beautiful cove protected from the winds at the bottom. There is the option of food on site which looked fantastic but we also found a fresh seafood homestead about a mile away which sold me a live lobster and showed me how to prepare it humanely and subsequently cook on the fire. No one pitches too close, no rowdy behaviour observed and it seems very dog friendly. Our dogs were very relaxed the whole time. My 3 year old is already asking when we can go back! The pictures do not do the views justice. It was paradise!

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Location with sea views next to a coastal path. Few minutes walk to a beautiful beach, perfect for paddle boarding and exploring the shore. Flat, large fields to pitch without allocation so you can choose yourself. Lovely and helpful owners. Dog friendly. An option to buy meals from onsite bar, we tried it one evening and the food was really good and generous portions. Good facilities for a farm camping, never had to wait for shower or washing up. There are 2 showers/toilets blocks to choose from. Close to town for grocery shopping.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: The location was very good. We chose the pitch which was very close to the end of cliff. We had a superb view specially when was sunset. There are 5 or 6 pitches so you can choose one what you like it. Place is huge and super clean. Owner was very friendly and has provided lots of information. He advised us what sights to see. Ee ordered dinner (dirty beef and dirty chicken)from him as well which was very tasty. Good portions and very good price. Food was very fresh and was prepared in good time too. Facilities were clean and everywhere was hot water. There are multiple shower rooms and you don’t need to stay in the queue. Owner has provided fire pit for free. They have canoes for rent as well but we don’t have opportunity to rent as was bad weather this time and extremely windy. There is also path to the beach where you can swim or kayaking. One of the best campsites where we have been. Differently will come back during the summer!! Highly recommended 💟

Local attractions

Make for Caerfai beach first for a sheltered setting, colourful cliffs and birdwatching for species such as choughs, fulmars, peregrine falcons and gannets from the huge colony on nearby Grassholm Island. Surfing, kayaking, coasteering, climbing and boat trips are all easily arranged around the bay and coast too: drop into the surf school at St Davids or ask farm owners Christine and Robert for info and tips. After some time at the beach, stroll along to spectacular St Davids centre a mile from the site, for its stunning cathedral, rightly hailed as a must-see, along with the medieval Bishops Palace and a good selection of restaurants, cafés, pubs, gift shops and galleries. Call in too to the Oriel y Parc Gallery and Visitor Centre to delve into the history of the city and investiage attractions and activities nearby. If you're up for a coastal hike (you really should around these parts), take the Pembrokeshire Coast Path from Oriel y Parc to Whitesands Bay or St Justinians; for boat trips and nature spotting, sail off from St Davids Peninsula around Ramsey and Grassholm islands to spy seabirds, porpoises and dolphins, as well as those thousands of Grassholm gannets.
